Beware of a Tucson
Vehicle
2006 Hyundai Tucson GLS 4dr SUV 4WD (2.7L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I purchased my 2006 Tucson new. I was expecting a great vehicle. Instead I got a vehicle with a lot of problems. The rotors warped at 300 miles and again at 14,500. I have had to have the radio replaced because it drained my battery on two occasions and left me with a dead car. The moonroof whistles and they cannot correct it. That is why they give you a deflector with the vehicle because it is a design flaw. The interior marks extremely easily and if very hard to clean when marked. The best I can get on gas mileage if 21.7 even though it was rated 19 and 24. I would never buy another Hyundai and cannot wait to get rid of the vehicle. The alarm system makes no sense.

I own 2006 Tucson diesel automatic UK spec bought new, I have had no problems with it whatsoever the acceleration is outstanding. Around town the mpg is 28, on a run I have achieved 54 mpg. The mpg figures obtained in the usa models are to say the least dire. Get a diesel much better

Excellent for small family

2006 Hyundai Tucson GL 4dr SUV (2.0L 4cyl 4A)
Review
I bought this as my parents had a Hyundai Santa Fe. It seemed more economical and sporty and it was my 1st SUV. Reliability has been great and very few services (non-standard) necessary. The car is only 2 years old and the armrest has broken due to the cold. Unfortunately the cost is over $300 to replace it. The horn definitely needed to be upgraded. And finally, who still listens to cassette's anymore?
Favorite Features
Reliability and sporty look.
Suggested Improvements
Improve the mileage average. it was rated 17-25 and during many long highway trips, it has never reached past 20 on avg. I have been averaging around 19mpgs. Issue with the armrest! The horn.
Just needs minor changes

Bought this new in 2006 for our daughter because of the size and safety. After a year, she wanted a smaller vehicle and so we bought her a new Tiburon and my wife inherited the Tucson. She absolutely loves it with the exception of some minor design flaws (see below).
Favorite Features
Drives very nice and handles extremely well in snow! The price was definitely right, along with the warranty. Great car for the money! Would definitely buy another one!
Suggested Improvements
The exterior door handles are really weak and we had one break off after only 2 months. The armrest is ridiculous where it is located. needs to be higher and forward. The gas mileage is terrible as well!

My Thoughts
Vehicle
2006 Hyundai Tucson GL 4dr SUV (2.0L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Actually I really like this SUV, I wanted a manual and something that was not going to kill my budget. So far I am getting about 23-27 MPG and I can not complaine about much on it. I did replace the factory stero so I could plug in my IPod. But it handles well and it rides nice w/ cruse on the highway, even over the big hills. The front seat is not the beast fit for me, I am 6'3 and over 300lbs, but I mostly notice it on long trips.
Favorite Features
I need it for the room to carry and it has it w/ good gas milage!
Suggested Improvements
The front seat is not real comfrotable for a big man, also it would have been nice to have the IPod hookup so I did not need to spend the extra $$$!!

Awesome small SUV

2006 Hyundai Tucson GL 4dr SUV (2.0L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I really love this vehicle. I have owned most different types of cars by many different manufacturers and I also had a small Hyundai when they first came out. This is by far the best one yet. I stay in the $20,000 and less category so this vehicle is compared to others in that group. I didn't realize how much I would brag about my car. I even test drove the larger Santa Fe, prior to committing to the Tucson. It had more cargo room, but less driver/passenger space. I am impressed with the styling and performance. I honestly can not say enough great things about this vehicle! The price is great, the performance is very good and you will love the safety rating!
Favorite Features
CD player, Rear defrost/wiper, sunglass holder, large glove box, split level middle console. Many seat adjustments. Cruise control, Power everything, Plenty of cup holders, power source in the back seat, plenty of passenger leg room. It has Electronic stability control and a great safety rating.
Suggested Improvements
A little more horsepower would be great, but having owned many 4 cylinder vehicles, it is not the worst by far.

I love my Tucson. It is roomy, easy to drive and comfortable. I had actually thought about buying the Jeep Liberty but after test driving it I decided the Tucson was a much better vehicle.
Favorite Features
The sporty look of the molding around the tire wells

First SUV

2006 Hyundai Tucson GLS 4dr SUV 4WD (2.7L 6cyl 4A)

This is my first SUV after owning strictly sports cars. I love the ability to shop and fit many items, including large inside without too much effort. Nice design. I looked at several SUV's prior to this purchase, my decision was based on the design, bank for the buck and the warranty. The mileage is not that great, it has improved. Only getting about 21-22 MPG. Having owned it for just one year, barring any future problems, I would buy another Hyundai.
Favorite Features
I went for the premium package. Love the heated seats, stereo, lots of storage room, heated mirrors (great for winter) Comfortable.
Suggested Improvements
Gas Mileage, and an awful blind spot when driving both rear and in front due to side air bag.

I purchased my Tuscon in November of 2005 and absolutely love it! I have always wanted an SUV and this fit my budget and the safety ratings sealed the deal. It was wonderful in the snow and ice this past winter and has driven beautifully on the beach this summer. I love the fold flat back seats and my kids like the fact that the back seats recline back a bit. I do wish it had better gas milage. It really only gets driven around town and the mileage is up to 17.5. Also, I find the center arm rest great for storage, my not so much for resting my arm! Needs to be higher and more forward. I would buy another SUV from Hyundai anytime :)
Favorite Features
The heated seats!!
Suggested Improvements
Wish the drivers seat was power operated and do hope they work on the gas mileage.
Best small SUV for the MONEY

Great small SUV. GREAT gas millage for an SUV. i do 50/50 freeway and city and my overall MPG is 20. i get 22-25 on the highway depending on my speed. around 27 if i drive 55mph, but couldnt continue very long at that slow speed. GREAT PRICE i got mine for $16,500 with 10,000 miles on it. it kbb at 21,500 privet party when i got it. now its at 17,500 after a few months. so i know theres no way im going to get my money back if i decide to sell so most likely i am keeping it until it dies. Great car for the price, i drive alot and it has been very trust worthy. lots of room for long trips, and 4wd is nice to have in the snow.
Favorite Features
repeaced the cd/casset with a 7in touch screen Navi, fit perfectly, and looks stock ;) great clearence. great gas millage. very roomy. low cost.
Suggested Improvements
I cant get as comfortable as i would like in these seats. but its not enough for me to dislike the SUV. Wish i would have gotten the Leather. depreciates very quickly, but i knew that going into a Hyundai and decided to mantain very well and hopefully drive it atleat 200,000 miles, fingers r crossed
