Used TMV from $11,420
Same old story--2006 Tiburon that I bought new. Less than 35,000 miles and am replacing the clutch for the second time. Hyundai is absolutely no help. The dealership says it is due to an inability to drive a stick. Why don't we fight fire with fire and take out some ads in major newspaper complaining about this issue? How about the consumer advocate on local TV stations coupled with a move ... Read More
I have a 2006 tiburon and I went to better business bureau and go back my money tthat it cost me to replace clutch, The dealer is not going to do anything and you must force hyundai to do something, go to BBB
Another one bites it....Another classic storybook case as it seems... Took car to dealership, clutch didn't seem right, ticking noise, told nothing wrong ($50). Problem got worse, back to dealership, nothing visible need to teardown to locate problem ($130). Amazing they found that the clutch, flywheel and pressure plate needed replaced. Said no warranty that the car had been driven hard they could tell because the tires needed to be replaced ... Read More
My advice to anyone who is having clutch and flywheel problems is to get rid of that LEMON!! I posted a message in this forum just 11 months ago and I have to replace the damn thing again..My clutch did not even last one year..and again the price is going to be $2000+ to fix this piece of crap..I bought my Tiburon in December of 2006 and it is now September ... Also, with 2008 beyond the last model year. The Tiburon is priced a lot lower. You can get it well below MSRP now. And with the Scion tC, they have that annoying supposedly no-haggle price.
The msrp of the tiburon is about the same as the Scion tc that is similar. (See my message above) There is no comparison in quality. Scion wins. Scion is supposedly no dicker but with the depreciation of the tc (see 07 used kbb.com) from sticker there has to be some give. Usually in trade in over allowance or add ons for the no dicker types. Tiburon is probably worse in ... Read More
I was wondering what kind of price should I expect to pay for a 2008 Tiburon GS with Automatic and Premium Package (Sunroof + Cruise Control)? The Hyundai Website says Total MSRP: $19,395. A dealer website in my area says Internet Price: $16,766. I'm trying to figure out what price I should expect to pay in total, out the door. So what is a fair price I should pay out the ... Read More
Read this last night in AutoWeek mag: Hyundai unveiled its Genesis Coupe at the LA show, but production versions of the big rear-wheel-drive cars - sedan, coupe, convertible – are well on their way to showrooms. The Genesis – though that likely won’t be the production car’s moniker – will make its debut in sedan form at the Detroit auto show in January and will go on sale in mid-2008 as ... Read More
The picture is just an artist rendering. Hyundai's U.S. VP of sales emphatically denies that this is an accurate depiction of the Tiburon's exterior. He said it will look "better" (which remains to be seen). There will also be no V8 available. He mentioned a V6, but didn't comment on the availability of an I-4 or turbo. He did say that the power to weight ratio is "impressive". This obviously leaves ... Read More
The incentives were $500. owner loyalty, $500. Hyundai motor finance corp. & $500. rebate on the GS model. The dealer also took off at least $1000. in dealer incentives. For October almost all the incentives are gone except for the $500. rebate plus whatever dealer incentives you can get. I'm still waiting for the 2008's. However the prices from Aug. & Sept. generally can still be gotten as I've checked with ... Read More

We own a 2000 tiburon & a XG-350. Was going to buy a 2007 Tiburon @ $16,800 for a GS w/auto & sunroof. Decided to wait till 2008's come out Called Hyundai consumer affairs & couldn't/wouldn't give me a date when they will be on car lots. Called corporate headquarters and they said we'll check with production and call back. That was a week ago. No reply. Anybody with firm knowledge ... Read More
looks like a coupe based off of the genesis or azera sedan. Harldy a tiburon. Unless they change the name...and probably the price.
Just come across this "supposedly" pre-production Hyundai coupe. According to the source from Korea, the car will be based on recently announced Genesis rear wheel platform and will have 300hp 3.8 V-6 or possibly V-8. It is targeted for 2008 introduction Whether this will replace current Tiburon or join as a new line up is unknown. http://www.bobaedream.co.kr/board/data/data_view.php?code=national&No=81163&page- - =1&select=&content=&r_no=6&search_gubun=&s_pagescale=&search_day=&Answer=0
ESC with traction control has been standard on the SE model, iirc (at least in 07 and should continue in for 08 models). Not sure if it would be offered on other trims. There should not be many changes for the 08 model, recall the 07 was recently facelifted. XM should be there, as Hyundai is rolling in such feature across the line.
Hyundai has invited selected few Tiburon owners for the feedbacks concerning the new car. The basic engine is said to be an inline 4 turbocharged to the tune of 215 bhp (6 speed manual shown). All agreed that the interior room has grown in every dimension compared to Tiburon (Back seat much better accomodating). The price is hinted as around $25,000 in Korea (Export price tends to be much lower as ... Read More
According to Winding Road magazine, there is no indication whatever that this will ever become a "Tiburon" trpe vehicle. There are no plans for manual transmission, and although there is a 2 door coupe being tested, the indications seem to point to a larger class vehicle. Don't get me wrong. I'd love to be driving a 300+HP Tiburon, but for 30K, it would be hard for me to give up my ... Read More
PS: the 3.8L currently sits in the Azera has nothing to do with Mitsu's 3.8L i belive he posted that just to show you what similar sized engines in a car that the tiburon would compete with puts out. It's speculation at this point but considering the currnet Azera pumps out mid 260s, even putting the current generation Lambda (let alone the second gen) 3.8 in a much lighter car will ... Read More

A next generation Tiburon debuting at any month this year is highly questionable. I for one completely disagree. It would be a huge waste of money to redesign both front and back lights, side garnish, offer two different alloy wheel designs, revised exhaust, front and back bumpers. The debut would be much too early and would cause customers to wait and not purchase the just refreshed Tiburon. I think it will ... Read More
Uplifted from a post on U.K.H.C.C. Forums :- {World scoop: Hyundai confirms its next-gen Tiburon coupe will be rear-wheel drive!} By BYRON MATHIOUDAKIS 29 April 2005 "FUTURE Driven" Hyundai will abandoning front-wheel drive for its next Tiburon. While the next Tiburon may have those features, don't expect it as early as 06. Going with Hyundai's typical 5 year redesign schedule, the next Tiburon isn't due until 2008. The above stats sound interesting, but I think it would be a shame to lose the rear seat and 18" wheels should be optional, not standard. I'm one who thinks that wheel sizes are getting out of hand. 16" is plenty ... Read More
