Summary
What Edmunds.com says
With clean styling, optional V6 power and a generous warranty, the Tiburon would seem to have no faults, but a few too many pounds and a less-than-athletic suspension keep it from attaining class-leading sport coupe status.
Pros
Sharp styling, available V6 power, generous standard equipment list, reasonable price, great warranty.
Cons
Considerable weight takes it toll on performance, thirsty at the pumps in V6 form.
What's New for 2004
The Tiburon's base 2.0-liter inline four has been fitted with continuously variable valve timing. As a result, horsepower creeps up slightly to 138; torque also rises to 136 pound-feet. The base Tiburon now features a standard rear spoiler. The Tiburon GT V6 Special Edition is a late 2004 introduction, and comes loaded with most of the GT's options as standard equipment, as well as unique trim and badging.

I loved my Tiburon until this week. While getting ready for vacation I took the vehicle to my mechanic for an oil change. He noted there was wear on the rear passenger tire and suggested that I replace the tire before the trip. I contacted the place where I had purchased the tires a year ago and was told that the car was out of alignment in the rear and so I had the alignment done and purchased a new tire only to find out that these vehicles DO NOT have an adjustment feature. Now I must buy an after market adjustment kit which will cost me about $250 so that my tires will not continue to wear. It was very disappointing to find this out. I believe I will be looking for another vehicle.

I bought this car and was fun to drive but as soon as the car hit 60k all the problems started. The cars alignment is perfect but if I let go of the wheel in less than one second its in the ditch dealer says alignment issue even though there is a recall. Now tires need replaced every 10k, intake messed up had to replace that, tranny went out then clutch then clutch master cylinder then clutch slave and now ac is broke. all this in the last 12k miles and all i do is highway driving and gentle driving. I have spend several thousands on this car fixing it and it keeps breaking so just consider this review.
Favorite Features
nice style and sporty car
Suggested Improvements
Hyundai should live up to there warranty and fix issues with tranny,ac,intake

Review
I'm the original owner with over 60K miles now and I'm still loving this car. It runs great, performance is good, exterior & interior styling is excellent, it's comfortable, and the car is easy to maintain for the do-it-yourselfer. The car has been very reliable--more so than my previous Corolla and Civic Ex. I'm very impressed with Hyundai on this car. Even after all these years, it's great to get compliments on the styling of this car and the looks I get from fellow drivers and pedestrians.
Favorite Features
Exterior styling, great reliability, fun to drive.
Suggested Improvements
I wish the engine was more powerful and Hyundai had offered a 4-cylinder with a turbocharger. I also wish it was a bit lighter as well.
Great value, great style

I live in the city so I don't drive a lot. My car still looks new and I haven't had any problems with it. I get a lot of attention for the styling; people are always SHOCKED when they see that it's a Hyundai. My friends always refer to it as a "sports car". If I bought it again I would get the V6 in dark blue; the silver looks cool but shows dirt. Overall, I have absolutely no regrets on choosing this car. I did a ton of research before buying it and it is a fantastic value. They do honor the free roadside assistance agreement; I called once for a flat tire and another time for a dead battery.
Favorite Features
The best features are the styling both inside and out; it looks like a far more expensive car. There are nice touches like a sunglass holder and high-end tires. The hatchback is so roomy I've moved a sofa in it. There is a lot of legroom in front because you can slide the seats back really far.
Suggested Improvements
I wish I would have gotten the 6 cylinder so it would drive as sporty as it looks. The cup holders are a non- standard size. The radio reception is often weak; it could use a more powerful antennae. The backseats are tiny, so they're ok for kids or occasional use but for adults they're pretty cramped
