2008 Tiburon when out?

We own a 2000 tiburon & a XG-350. Was going to buy a 2007 Tiburon @ $16,800 for a GS w/auto & sunroof. Decided to wait till 2008's come out Called Hyundai consumer affairs & couldn't/wouldn't give me a date when they will be on car lots. Called corporate headquarters and they said we'll check with production and call back. That was a week ago. No reply. Anybody with firm knowledge ... Read More

When you jumped the car you probably damaged the ECM (Electronic Control Module). If you didnt jump it correctly (polarity) that could cause damage. The dealer would probably swap out the ECM, verify its fixed and charge you for a new ECM. You could also find one used for a few hundred dollars. We are having the same problem. Our 2003 Tiburon's clutch and fly wheel just went out. There was no warning. Just one day, the clutch seem different, so we took it into the 1st dealer. They drove it and said it was the clutch. Told us it would be around $2000.00 to fix it. They told us, it was they way we drove the car. Funny, since we have had many ... Read More

Took my 2000 Tiburon to a newly-opened local repair shop. In 10 minutes an ace mechanic fabricated a clip so that the inboard headlight works like a charm now..beats shelling out mucho $$$ to a Hyundai dealer! Another puzzle I hope someone will comment on. For $44.00 the dealer service probably looked at your pattern and said close enough. The spring clip that you lost: 1) You can copy the clip on the other headlight and make your own. You wont be able to use spring steel like the manufacter did but stiff wire. 2) You can look for a spare headlight on Ebay. I bought two for my Elantra GT for $85 each. 3) Hyundai ... Read More

AM Radio Problem

I too had the problem with static on AM in my 2000 Tiburon. The inteference seemed to be tied into the heater/ac fan motor. As you increase the fan speed the noise gets louder. Anyway, my son replaced the radio with a Sony am/fm/cd/mp3 player. Not only has the inteference disappeared but the sound through the standard Hyundai speakers is fantastic.

It was great to see that Hyundai tied with Honda for 2nd place in the JD Power Initial Quality survey. I can also report that my sons 2000 Tiburon with 45k miles has just had its first repair under warranty. The axle seal at the transmission had a leak and the right front wheel bearing was shot. The Tiburon has the look and feel of cars costing thousands more. The V6 is particularly smooth and powerful. I am very impressed with the leather faced seats and the switchgear. The Shiftronic lever moves with the precision and feel of a Lexus. A great dead pedal is perfectly located. Not to really aggravate you or anything but I'm trying to understand where you are coming from. I owned a 2000 Hyundai Accent (and almost bought the 03 Tib) which was also affected by the hp snafu, but not as greatly as the Tiburon (it was rated at 92 but it really only had 89), so I was in a similar boat but it honestly didn't tick me off at all. ...
