  That's exactly what I was thinking. For the crossmember to be damaged he had to have hit something in the road and doesn't want to own up to it.   I check my oil in all my cars once a week. I have a 2005 Elantra, 2005 Sonata GLS and a 2011 Limited. I have had NO problems with any of my cars. Hyundai makes a great car.

  ryster: I agree with checking the oil periodically with the dipstick. Same issue comes up on other brands and owners complain they were not warned by the car. The oil life indicators cause lots of confusion. Hopefully Hyundai will not get a reputation for wiggling out of their great warranty because the market will punish them.   Ron, The oil filter is located in the front of the engine on the 2.4L. There is an access hole in the plastic splash shield that you can see the oil filter. My advice is to take the extra time and remove the plastic shield because the top side of the shield has foam on it and will absorb any spilled oil, and you will be getting drips thinking you have ... It doesn't look like they've got the 2011 Sonata info yet, but they do have 2010, so I suspect they'll get it eventually. And, it's not printed.   Our 06 acura tsx has the oil life % indicator. I still check the oil level using the dipstick on a regular basis. Never had to add oil. WOW-nice to read so many miles on the Hyundai's. Great cars when properly maintained.

  Have the same issue the rear breaks are wearing out especially on the outboard side of the pads. I have a 2008 Santa Fe. The rear passenger side wore out in 2010. The other side in 2011. The front ones seem to be okay. But the tire wear on the rear wheels is significant. There should be a recall issued for this problem. I replaced both sides already.
