just that to change a lightbulb???-well unless you want ot pay the dealer to do it, then you have to do it yourself
OMG! all that just to change out a lightbulb?!!! I would trade the car in first!
I posted this problem before. But this happened again. Here’s the story. My Sonata was purchased in March 2010. Within one month, the engine stalled when braking to a full stop at traffic light. I took my car to the dealership. They couldn't reproduce the problem and just refreshed the computer software. A little over one month later, my car cut off again while sitting at traffic light. Maybe another one ... Read More
I don't like to put money down on a lease. The only reason I've leased cars (and I am leasing one now, FWIW) is because I have been able to get a very low payment with nothing or almost nothing out of pocket. I just changed the 3rd brake light in my 2010 Sonata - what an ordeal! But I did save the $50 the dealer wanted to charge me! 1. In the trunk, unplug the wire that feeds the 3rd tail light. 2. I know that this doesn't exactly answer your question with what you're seeking, but http://www.alldatadiy.com has some pretty good info. Just thought I'd give you that site in case the printed option doesn't ever materialize.

It is a problem I also have with my 2010 Sonata. It is caused by a "bug" in the software for the transmission controller. I just happen to have worked for years in designing vehicle controllers, so the dealer was not able to pull a fast one on me (but they tried). What happens is the transmission's microcontroller software creates what is called "loookup tables" that are stored numbers (variables) based ... Read More
I believe the specifics are that Ford 'gave' Toyota diesel engine technology while Toyota 'gave' Ford hybrid technology. I think comparison of the Fusion Hybrid to Camry Hybrid is not fair. I don't think it speaks to Toyota hybrid ... Read More
It seems to be luck of the draw if you get a Sonata that has a pulling problem. Of course, you wouldn't understand if your car does not have the problem. Is it possible there was front rim/suspension damage, e.g. hitting a pothole? That could explain both the vibration and the problem with the tire. My service advisor stated that it was because of lockups and the system freezing on the Hyundai logo screen. I haven't had that issue except for maybe once not long after I got the car and restarting the car took care of it. - Merg
Just found this on the web posted in June 2010... 2009 SONATA NAVIGATION SYSTEM REPLACEMENT (CAMPAIGN TA6) IMPORTANT: DEALERS MUST PERFORM THIS CAMPAIGN ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES WHENEVER AN AFFECTED VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP FOR ANY MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR. IMPORTANT: WHEN A VEHICLE ARRIVES AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, ACCESS HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA'S "WARRANTY VEHICLE INFORMATION" SCREEN VIA WEBDCS TO IDENTIFY OPEN CAMPAIGNS. DESCRIPTION: This bulletin describes the procedure to remove ... Read More
The code on the invoice from the dealership says: "TA6 09 NF NAVIGATION REPLACE 10-01-011" I also had the transmission system update as well when I went in this past time, too. From what it seems like, I should have had the Nav System replaced back in May, but the tech refused to do it then because I had updated the map. And, hopefully, Hyundai will reimburse me. I need to ... Read More
I'm actually getting this V3 one. Due to a recall on my system, I need to have it replaced, but needed a new Map Update disc since my one from 2009 could not be used on the new system. I ordered the 2010 update back on 08/31 and after a week of it not shipping out I called. I was told the 2010 update was backordered, but they would be getting ... Read More
There is a separate volume setting in the Bluetooth setup, turn it up some and you'll be fine. I had this issue and this was the solution...

I've been seeing quite a few incidents spoken of and raised regarding the steering on many places, including Hyundai Forums. Who knows what to make of it now. I recently re-test drove a Limited, and I think the ride is too firm and there's too much ROAD noise in the Sonata compared to Subaru Legacy, Toyota Camry, Chevy Malibu, Ford Fusion and Mazda 6 I recently drove. I do like the ... Read More
Auto manufacturers know how their car will resale better then third party sources do since the manufacturers take them back when the lease is over. For 2010, the Honda Accord was the highest ranked by ALG in the mid-sized segment. What I do not understand is how the Sonata is all of a sudden predicted to be worth more then the Accord just because of a flashy design, featured content and ... Read More
Greetings Arto7 Perhaps your right maybe the site address is incorrect, anyhow still not used to the drive by wire(can you believe that?)The 2011 only come with a 4cyl,my 4cyl for the most part is fine. The car is well built. The Korean car market ,Hyundai has come along way.Hard to find fault with anything on this car,: - )
A late response I know but I am looking at getting a 2010 Sonata tomorrow so I was in the forums looking for info on that model. Anyhow, I just wanted to say that I think you meant hyundai-forums.com. If you leave out the dash you get one of those generic fake search sites rather than the Hyundai community I think you meant to mention.
Sat in one at the dealership today...sweet car. The sticker was pure fantasy on their part..$25k for a GLS model! Power seat but no roof...wonder if $19k would be reasonable? The seats in the 2010 C Class I drove earlier in the day over at the MB store were so much better, but for $13k more, they should be. Sonata felt like a bigger car but Hyundai has finally made it ... Yeah, I had to ask myself was getting new worth the at-least $3,000 hit it would take immediately? My answer was yes, not only because of the 15-20K less miles it had but also the fact that I was the original driver (no guessing as to how someone else drove/maintained it). And the depreciation factor is also not so relevant to me because I plan to keep it 10-12 years.
Thanks for the response. The depreciation cost is the only thing deterring me from purchasing a new car. We'll see. I may have to bite the bullet.
