The Squeaky Wheel: Re: 2 cents from Cal. [espo35]

Thanks for your input. I live in Washington, D.C., so neither salt, nor hills, are a particularly big problem--at least not like New York or Colorado. I have had time to finally figure out this whole mess, and I have to say, Hyundai Consumer Affairs has impressed me, but I still think Corporate is dragging their heels in issuing a recall. The final diagnosis was ... Read More...

2011 Hyundai Sonata

The trunk is big enough...

...for a mid-size sedan with an opening that will be more than adequate. A love the look of the new Sonata. Hyundai and Kia are really coming on strong. When the U.S. economy (& credit crunch) are in full recovery, these cars will be become major players in the market. They were very close in 2007 before things started sliding downhill. Read More...

Sonata Brake Problems - Junk!

I just had my 2007 Sonata rear drivers side brake pads wear out completely at only 20,054 miles in the Chicago area. Unbelievable! The passenger side rear pads are perfect and have lots of pad left on them (as they should), but the drivers side is down to the metal. I called my local dealer (Gregory Hyundai in northern Illinois) and they said it was not a warrantied ... Read More...

break failure on 2007 sonata at only 16,000 miles

My in-laws bought a 2007 sonata that had its front-breaks literally fall off the car when they started it one day. The car has barely 16,000 miles on it. The pads in the back also had to be replaced for premature wear. The dealer blamed it on my in-laws missing a regular inspection to charge them the repair work (over $300.00) and not cover it under warranty. Does anyone ... Read More...

Second stuck rear caliper and paint problems

I have a 2007 Sonata that has a stuck caliper for the second time in about one year. The first time, the repair was under warranty, but now, at 55K, I'm not sure if the repair will be covered. I caught it when I took it in for an oil change at Mr. Tire, and they advised me the break on the driver's side was starting to affect the rotor and should be fixed asap. I have also had ... 2010 Hyundai Sonata Limited I4 Price Paid

Owed $9,100 and this is all I wanted on trade in value. Purchased a 2010 Hyundai Sonata Limited I4. Did not want navigation or bluetooth. Car was power white pearl had floor mats included. I did not qualify for military or ... Read More...

Hyundai Sonata Owner Experiences

Re: Accident Report - 2009 Sonata GLS I4 Auto rear ended [billward]

Ok, as promised, here's the breakdown of my experience. In this case, I used The Body Shop, from Checkered Flag, in Virginia Beach, to do the repair. A bit eye opening in one respect on how expensive the car was to repair, by the way. The original estimate for the repair itself was $857.20 (total), with $425.28 in parts/painting, and 3.2 hours labor, plus 4.2 hours ... Read More...

Re: 2007 Sonata rear brake issue [targettuning]

Targettuning - regarding your assumption about previously owned Hyundais, please see my comment #24. Mine was brand new - 21,000 miles in 11 months, i.e., lots of highway driving and not much braking. I might add that I take meticulous care of my cars, driving them all over 100,000 miles. Furthermore, I usually do my own brake work. You mention neglect. I don't ... Read More...

Re: 2007 Sonata rear brake issue [haidong]

Why so much interest "to stay Hyundai board" ?? Yes, I owned Hyundai....I happen to have had two Hyundai products personally (2003, 2004 Santa Fe), my son had a 2000 Elantra that when sold had 193,000 miles with no significant problems, my daughter still owns a 2003 Elantra GT. I happen to like Hyundai and plan to buy a 2010 Sonata hybrid (if they release it for 2010) ... Read More...
