Hyundai Sonata Maintenance and Repair

Re: Parts question [jnichols1]

The 2003, 2004, and 2005 models were almost identical; very, very few changes were made between those years (and as an owner of a 2003 (and a 2009), I can't tell the difference visually between the models). Changes between a 2002 and a 2003 were slightly more significant, as there was a major facelift in 2003; 2005 was a "short run" ala the way the 2010 model will be, ... Read More...

Hyundai Sonata Owner Experiences

Then had a fluid leak under front of car..Dealer said we had power steering leak, and tightened the clamp. We still saw a small amount of oily substance coming from front of car. Midsize Sedans 2.0

Wrong Guys

The Accent in 2005 was the first Hyundai Hybrid, then came the Elantra, then the Santa Fe. They sell these in limited quanitites in China and South Korea to test and work out the kinks in the real world before applying them to North American Products. The Sonata Hybrid will be the first mass produced Hyundai Hybrid. Hyundai actually invented its first Hybrid powertrain ... Read More...

2009-2010 Hyundai Sonata

Re: Cars manufactured over one year ago for sale [sharksoup]

Probably goes back to the initial debut of the Gen 4 Sonata in the U.S. in early 2005, as a 2006 model. Hyundai introduced the next model year early in the preceding year since then. But I don't think there were many 2009 Sonatas available for sale in February 2008. That's when the car debuted at the Chicago Auto Show. Read More...

2005 Sonata Heater and stalling connection???

I recently purchased a 2005 Hyundai Sonata. In the morning I warm the car and then turn the heat on. During my commute thru the streets when I begin to slow down at a light the car would stall. This happened about three different days within a week over about two weeks. I took it to the dealer and they checked it out. Of course, nothing happened. I even had someone else ... Read More...

2011 Hyundai Sonata

Re: 2010 Hyundai Sonata [bhmr59]

Last year the 2009 was out in March--I remember seeing them at the Twin Cities Auto Show in early March 2008 and at dealers shortly after that. So I expect the 2010 to be unveiled any day now. I don't think this is it. The blog entry said "third quarter next year for South Korea." If true, then I wouldn't expect to see it here until late next year at the earliest. Hyundai ... Read More...

Hyundai Sonata Maintenance and Repair

Re: timing belt [izzyb]

Assuming you have a 2005 or older Sonata. You can take a chance that the timing belt will last longer, but why take that risk? If it breaks, the engine is trashed. If you bought the car new, it has the 10 year/100k powertrain warranty. If you don't follow factory maintenance schedules and the car is damaged because of it, don't look for Hyundai to honor the warranty. ... Read More...

Re: Spark Plug & Wires ABUSE! [targettuning]

I assumed the car he was referring to was a 2005 Hyundai Sonata that he received a $500 quote to do this at the dealer since this is a Sonata chat room. I may have wrongly assumed that it would be an I4. Read More...
