2011 Hyundai Sonata

Re: Not enamored [backy]

I have a minivan, too (in fact, I currently own FIVE automobiles... the minivan gets driven occasionally, but with 180K miles, I try now to save it for when I take the Boy Scouts out (I'm a leader in my troop)) 1989 Camaro RS V8 all options, 92K miles 1996 Plymouth Voyager Ralley, SWB, V6 180K 2003 Sonata GLS V-6 with all options, 112K 2008 Kia Rio5 9K miles (my son's ... Re: Not enamored [targettuning]

Hey, don't get me wrong; I have TWO Sonatas, a 2003 Sonata GLS V-6 with all the options (the equivalent of an SE) including the moonroof, and a 2009 Sonata GLS I-4 Auto with PEP. I love BOTH cars, they are both good looking, comfortable, relatively econmical and (at least so far) reliable. But the new 2011 Sonata doesn't look like a sedan anymore, which is the point ... Hyundai Sonata Brakes

Re: 2007 Sonata rear brake issue [haidong]

Why so much interest "to stay Hyundai board" ?? Yes, I owned Hyundai....I happen to have had two Hyundai products personally (2003, 2004 Santa Fe), my son had a 2000 Elantra that when sold had 193,000 miles with no significant problems, my daughter still owns a 2003 Elantra GT. I happen to like Hyundai and plan to buy a 2010 Sonata hybrid (if they release it for 2010) ... Read More...

Hyundai Sonata Maintenance and Repair

Re: Parts question [jnichols1]

The 2003, 2004, and 2005 models were almost identical; very, very few changes were made between those years (and as an owner of a 2003 (and a 2009), I can't tell the difference visually between the models). Changes between a 2002 and a 2003 were slightly more significant, as there was a major facelift in 2003; 2005 was a "short run" ala the way the 2010 model will be, ... Read More...

Hyundai Sonata Front Suspension "Thunk"

Re: FYI [kaypea]

Yes, you are correct I do not currently own a Hyundai product (how you assumed that I don't know but nice guess) although in total our family has owned 4 (two Santa Fe's for me, an Elantra for my son and our daughter still owns her 2003 Elantra GT). In fact I intend to purchase a new redesigned 2011 Sonata but all that aside I am only trying to present a possible explaination ... Read More...

Hyundai Sonata Air Bags

2003 Sonata Air Bag Problem

Can anyone tell me what a b1352 code is for air bag light? My light has been on since 1/2007 and was told the passenger air bag needed to be replaced @ $600. Didnt have it fixed for many reasons/cost and Just dont think I should have to pay for something faulty since my car has never been in an accident. Well now it wont pass inspection cuz the govt says it cant be on, went ... Read More...

Hyundai Sonata Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Re: PEP [sandman_6472]

PEP is just shorthand for Popular Equipment Package 1 (Popular Equipment Package 2 is PEP plus the Sunroof/Moonroof). Popular Equipment Package 1 includes (from the Hyundai Website) - Power driver seat - Steering wheel audio controls - Driver’s lumbar support - Automatic light control - Trip computer - Chrome window belt moldings - Woodgrain accents (beige ... Re: looking For SE [igozoomzoom]

Ah, but then the difference between the SE and the Limited comes into play; of the things mentioned, the rear spoiler doesn't matter at all to me. Neither does the Sport-tuned Suspension. The Tilt&Telescopic steering is standard on the limited, as are the fog lamps (and the 6CD in dash), and the tires and wheels... but the limited offers a lot of other nice features ... Read More...

Re: 100k/Lifetime Powertrain Warranties not Transferrable [jeffyscott]

Yep. For a few years, Hyundai allowed the powertrain warranty to transfer within a family, but they stopped doing that in (I think) 2003. So I simply retain the title to my 2004 Hyundai while my son uses up its 10 year powertrain warranty. :) It's kind of funny I think that you can buy a used car (i.e. a certified used car) that has more manufacturer warranty than a new ... Hyundai Sonata Maintenance and Repair

Re: 2003 Sonata sedan V6 (hole in block) [lindalee65]

On some cars the water pump is driven by the timing belt (this is the case on our 95 Stratus 2.5 liter V-6) so it sounds to me like the water pump is now seeping in spite of what your mechanic said about the fitness of the pump. Further, most cars require a partial removal/relocation of various hang on items on the side of the engine the timing belt/water pump is on. These ... Read More...
