We bought our Sonata with 24,000 miles on it. The main problems we have had is electrical such as sensors, spark plug wires, etc. The transmission has always shifted strangely, but I have had this checked out several times and have never found anything wrong. For the warranty and price, it is hard to beat. The resale value isn't the best.
Extra power outlet. Handles well.
Put the cruise "on" button on the steering wheel instead of where it is. Maybe a little better transmission set up would be nice.
"The transmission has always shifted strangely" ==> Mits "Diamond Star Type II" fluid shifts hard, especially in cold weather, but "Type III" solve that problem. After resetting the computer (by disconnecting the battery), it takes a while for the computer to "learn" how to shift smoothly. There's considerable "flare" from gear 2 to gear 3, until the trans control unit figure out the right way. Lastly, the "trans oil cooler" made a vast improvement in shift performance, both immediate and enduring. Cool transmissions are happy transmissions. Clean transmissions are happy transmissions. Flush the oild and filter every couple years. 2nd-best hundred bucks
you'll ever spend.
