1999 Hyundai Sonata 4dr Sedan
The worst car I've ever owned. The
problems are so numerous. Replaced
timing belt sensor, timing belt, power-
window cable, THREE wheel bearings,
engine mount bolts. And all of these
were not under warranty because of
mileage. My car literally fell apart
after 60,000 miles. Never again.
Start over with your design and quality
"Replaced window cable" ==> Me, too. Kind of a pain to get to it, and took some shopping to find a replacement regulator at a decent price. (Ended up getting one online for $30 from an eBay vendor based in Korea, of all places.) Took a solid 2 hours to disassemble the door trim, remove the old one, replace it and re-assemble. Not fun.
"Replaced THREE wheel bearings" ==>
I also ruined a rear hub after driving cross-country with the rear seat, trunk and roof rack (likely) overloaded beyond the nameplate specifications. Easy repair too only about 2 hours. The base level lacks ABS, so the replacement hub was only about $40 including shipping, as of Oct, 2011. Sounds like you repeatedly and heavily overloaded the car. Or maybe you like to tow trailers, loading it FAR above the "max gross vehicle weight". There's just not enough power and suspension lift for any significant towing.
