2006 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
Review
We switched from Ford in 2002 and bought our first Santa Fe. Since then we have owned three and have loved every one. Only expenses have been regular maintenance and tires. Warranty has never been a problem with our dealer and all work has been done in a timely manner. I have also owned an Accent and now have an Elantra and would recommend any of them. Fuel economy on the Santa fe is 24 to 27 on the road at freeway speeds. We have 67000 miles on it and never had any problems.
Favorite Features
Driving comfort is great,AWD is fantastic in Wyoming winters.

2006 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
Review
I just purchased a used Hyundai Santa Fe limited with 4WD and the 3.5 V^. It is fully loaded from leather seats to heated seats and moon roof and 6 disc changer. So far I love the ride even though it is used still drives like a new vehicle.
Favorite Features
Leather, heated seats, comfort and everything else besides the gas mileage.
Suggested Improvements
Should have higher gas mileage but other then that nothing so far.

Not so good
Vehicle
2006 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 4dr SUV (2.7L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I bought my first Hyundai 2006 Santa Fe in 8/05. I bought the car because everything I read was talking about how good the cars were & how great the warranty was. I have put roughly 27,000 miles on my car since then. I have had several minor, but irritating, issues with the car lately. (1) a piece luggage rack flew off- I never used it (2) drivers seat seam has come apart, the stitching came undone-clearly a defect (3) another obvious defect is the back windows (that dont open) and the back windshield leak. All of my issues are fairly minor and should not be hard to fix. I guess that is why I dont understand why I am having so much trouble getting them fixed under warranty.
Favorite Features
I like the car, I am just very disappointed with the service and warranty.
Suggested Improvements
Better service and actually have a good warranty, not just say it.

Bad Rotors
Vehicle
2006 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 4dr SUV (2.7L 6cyl 4A)
Review
Rotors warp continuously. Warranted item but no easy fix. The red tape process for getting approval to replace a warranted item will have you eating blood pressure medication at age 30. Hyundai claims they have a "Bumper to Bumper" warranty for 5 years 60,000 miles. Good luck getting them to honor it. Not to mention the replacement of the wheel bearings and seals at about 15000 miles! Of course it took another 3000 miles for them to replicate the sound! Recently took a service manager for a spin and he heard it every turn but the service tech couldn't replicate, hmmm sounds familiar. Overall Hyundai promises you the best warranty but hardly delivers! Still trying to get the rotors replaced.
Favorite Features
None.
Suggested Improvements
Better gas mileage. A Warranty that is supported. Better Customer Service.

20K and going strong
Vehicle
2006 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
Review
After 20K+ miles in 20 months, this '06 Santa Fe hasn't had any problems. Dealer recommended oil changes/service by the book. Dealer caught one minor problem at 6K miles & repaired it (no charge). Great in traffic with ample acceleration to move as needed. Good sound system. Would like better than 2 interior color choices (taupe and grey). Body paint still looks new. Braking is still great. Interior cab for driver feels cramped with seat pushed back to its stops; have to rest left foot on foot rest; still uncomfortable with long drives. V6 highway mileage could be better.
Favorite Features
Best standard features in the industry included. Had almost everything I desired but found optional in other vehicles at a great price. Dealership staff was knowledgeable & patient and not pushy to make a deal.
Suggested Improvements
weak horn; get rid of the cassette player; need MP3 plug in. Nosing up from take-off is noticeable. Wind noise past outboard mirrors needs to be worked on. Better interior color choices/fabric. More seat positions for driver side seat. Would like to see a pickup truck in the future. improve MPG.

I luv my SUV !!!
Vehicle
2006 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
Review
I bought it a year ago and, even when I see the new Santa Fe on the roads, I'm very proud of my last year's choice ! Nice, safe, excellent warranty and quality, needs only to get the scheduled maintenance and it runs forever... It's nice to have the automatic 4X4, in this way everybody can have it without even think about "when to switch it on" or "how to do it"... it's just there, only when you need it !
Favorite Features
Audio system it's outstanding, the sound is coming from everywhere ! Automatic 4X4, only when you need it ! Maximum Safety !
Suggested Improvements
Some more improvements in fuel economy (driving on other than freeways empties your pockets!) and a more dependable acceleration from 0 m/h would make a perfect ride !!!

Best Bang for the BUCK
Vehicle
2006 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 4dr SUV (2.7L 6cyl 4A)
Review
4th Hyundai for the family, My wifes father has a 04, Loved his so we bought one for ourselves. 2.7L V6 pulls well for small pop-up campers and small trailers. Great power. And has the best fuel millege for its size and class.... Highly reccommended!
Favorite Features
Packaged well. Had Sunroof/Compass and Tow Package already from the factory. The GLS in 2006 came with everything std, Major Plus there
Suggested Improvements
Hyundai needs to take away the Highway/Light Truck tires and put a more aggressive tire on the vehicle. Duller HT tires are horrible in anything other then dry weather. Maybe some ATX/ATP or light All Terrain Tires. Car also could use a slight 1/2" - 1" ride height raise.

Best value overall in mid-size SUV's
Vehicle
2006 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
Review
This is my 2nd Hyundai. Traded up from an Elantra, which I loved, so when I needed a larger vehicle, the Santa Fe was my first choice. For a mid-size SUV, the price is low, the fuel economy is decent, and the warranty and overall quality are outstanding. I find the best fuel economy is about 65-70mph, keeping the RPM's below 3000. Recently moved from FL to CA with my family, 2 pets, and a trunk full of clothes & supplies, with no problems at all. Handled pretty good when I hit the remnants of a blizzard in the midwest. Acceleration is a little slow, but once it gets going, it runs real smooth. Seeing so many other Santa Fe's on the road makes me feel good about the choice I made
Favorite Features
Lots of space, comes standard with many great features (CD/tape deck combo w/ decent sound system, fog lights, cargo rack, TONS of airbags, cruise control, Shiftronic transmission, power everything). Easy and fun to drive. Well-built, low price
Suggested Improvements
Could use better acceleration and still needs improvement in fuel economy given the rediculous price of gas.
High Quality, Excellent Support

Review
This is by far the best vehicle we have ever purchased in inital quality and manufacture support. It is our first Hyundai and I have to say they really have it together with their dealers. Their collborative efforts resulted in the best buying experience we have had in over 20 years of automotive purchases.

Review
I picked up my Santa Fe in August 2006. My hubby & I have a house in PA. We travel out there on weekends and Holidays. I noticed the caravan of Santa Fe's on the highways. We look @ each other with wow I made a great choice on this SUV. Sometimes my husband and I start to count on a given trip we counted for about one mile there were at least ten on the same highway. Four were the same color as mine. I love my truck, and just like my American express I never leave home without it. Great SUV, great price for it and relly a reliable. Liz from Queens NY
Favorite Features
The exterior colors and sytle. My music system and the back storage. Also the led space it's comfortable to sit in the back seat, also to nap. LOL
Suggested Improvements
The interior colors I feel should be darker.
