2010 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl 6A)

Review

My car has now been in the shop for 44 days and have not had a call from the dealership for a week. purchased the car from West End Hyundai in Edmonton On Oct 20, 2010 and have had nothing but problems since. drove the Coquahalla in severe weather conditions only to find there was no wrench to change the tires if we had a flat.. contacted the dealership but never got a reply.. then the troubles really started, the window would not go down, the truck would not open, car would not go into gear, no reverse, took the car to service centre for the 5th time. More tests. They said 1O Days to have part come from Korea BY BOAT! now 44 days later no car, no loaner, huge disappointment!!

Favorite Features

Victoria Hyundai seervice hs had my car for 44 days in repairs so at this point there are no favorite features I can think of other than the rotten service.

Suggested Improvements

Do not expect Customer service when dealing with Hyundai it is non existant. They say they will get back to you the same day or if not the next day after 3 days of waiting for a call or email I place another call... no car no loaner and no dervice 44 days and counting.. the part coming BY BOAT FROM KOREA! GO FIGURE..

2010 Hyundai Santa Fe SE 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 6A)

Review

I purchased a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe in February of 2010. Since day one I have experienced fast idle upon starting (1500 rpm), hard shifting, A/C that won't work when idling and then no A/C at all and a "thumping" in the cabin of the vehicle (right about center console location). After repeated trips to the service dept. the fast idle still exists, the hard shifting still exists, and the A/C has been fixed. I was horrified when the service dept. told me that the transmission may have to be replaced but they would have to get the car to "relearn" something or other (what??). I'm going back to the dealership and I want a new transmission or a new car - simple as that. Totally unhappy.

Suggested Improvements

Transmission, A/C, better radio reception and Bluetooth needs work.

Review

Purchased 2010 Hyundai Sante Fe V6. While the car rides smoothly and gets good mileage for midsized SUV the car has serious transmission issues. When you first start off it sporadically will make a loud bang as it shifts between 1- 2 gear. It also has a rocking motion caused by the transmission when slowly accelerating. It also shakes badly when shifting from park to either reverse or drive. Contacted Hyundai Consumer affairs about this issue and they say that they do no have any trend as to any transmission issues. Do a Google search on 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe transmission problems and you will see many unhappy owners. Car is at the dealer as I write this. Doesn't look good. Don't buy

Favorite Features

Good fuel mileage. Comfortably and nicely appointed interior.

Suggested Improvements

Hyundai should own up to their problems and not become another Toyota. Fix it or take it back. Automobile manufactures have no reason to take care of their customers. When we sign the dotted line we have given up all our rights.

2010 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 6A)

Review

The vehicle hesitates when I try to accelerate and sounds like slipping into gear Dealer Reset Computer 3 times. Also, Air Bag compartment is different color than dash board. Leather seat squeaks when moves. Very poor workmanship and quality highly disappointed. WOULD NOT RECOMEND ANYONE PURCHASE A SANTA FE OF ANY KIND. the dealerships just tells you thats the way it is and too bad. But I paid $30K for the vehicle and it's like a 20 yr old used car.

Favorite Features

XM Radio is the best

Suggested Improvements

Recall the Computer for the hesitation in shifting Recall airbag due to wrong color Discoloring after 1 month old Passenger rear Door squeaks due to wood grain plastic (they did fix this so far) bad vehicle Hyundai does not stand behind vehicle 10 yr warranty a joke!

Review

Do not buy this car! I only have 8,000 miles and the transmission is faulty. Hyundai will only put a refurbished one in and not a new one. Many other Santa Fe owners are having the same problems, stay away from this car.

Suggested Improvements

Get the transmissions right!
