Thank you so much for your quick response. :) I will look into the amps. That could very well be it. I had to have a AAA repair shop replace the alternator in my vehicle in a small town while vacationing.
this cars are truly expensive to repair. you need to look into an aftermarket warranty coverage for this truck, there are a lot of components on the awd version that only the dealer ship can service... My Santa Fe (Ltd, Awd, Alabama May 2008) has this problem. The fix is very invasive and I'm contemplating if the small creaking sound is ... Read More
dirkpit, thanks for the reply. I hate to say it, but the behavior of it not engaging sounds ominously like another post I saw where the end result was replacement of the transmission. I think it was on this forum, but it might have been on a couple of others I follow: http://www.hyundai-forums.com/f77-2g-2007-santa-fe.htm and http://www.hyundaiforum.com/forumid_20/tt.htm. I have had health issues and have not had time to pursue the cold shifting problem ... Read More
Good day all, Since purchasing my first 2007 Santa Fe 3.3 AWD in Feb 2007, it has been replaced with a new one by Hyundai Canada in Nov 2007 due to improperly welded rear quarter panels. I am now on my second one which is identical to the first one only manufactured at a later date (May 2008) with the quarter panel issue since corrected on the assembly line in Alabama. ... Read More

It is also very intermittent, and of course it didn't happen at the dealer. While this is happening the controls on the radio and steering wheel don't respond and the radio can't be powered off, but the radio ... Read More

What weight oil did the oil change place put in yours? If it was 5w-30 or (worse) 10w-30, that could account for your drop in mileage. Also, I noticed here in Ohio that when the temperature ... I posted a message a couple of weeks ago concerning a knocking noise in the engine of my 2007 Santa Fe. The dealer has now diagnosed this as "piston slap" and after talking with Hyundai field engineers states that this is normal for a car with 14,000 miles. I don't agree, but now I must take this problem to Hyundai because the dealer cannot do anything. Supposedly, the "piston slap" will ... Read More
Hi hodad57, I have the same problem. I have been dealing with it since I bought my 2007 Santa Fe. I had repeated tests conducted at the dealership. Never able to reproduce the problem on site. I talked to customer service at Hyundai and they said that they contacted the regional rep which in turn should have contacted my dealership which should have contacted me in turn. Nothing happened. On my ... Read More
