Update after ~ 2 months. No problems to date. Pluses: Super smooth power delivery, quiet, lots of gadgets. Back seat is big enough for 3 adults. Trunk is roomy. Price/Value proposition is hard to beat: Price on par (or cheaper) than E-class, 5-series, A6 and (Lexus) GS, but size/amenities are comparable to S-class, 7-series, A8 and LS. I paid well under list price. Minuses - Steering feel is a little numb. Rear wheel drive + stock tires = poor traction in snow/ice. Tried to find winter tires: tire rack and discount tires sold out for the season!! May need to buy wheels and tires next year. Gas miles is awful - I do mostly city driving, and will be luck to get 16 mpg. Cool features: smart cruise control, lane departure, approach sensor (when walking towards car with key, lock opens without pushing any buttons on the handle or on the fob), stereo is awesome. Still wish it had blind spot monitoring, 4 wheel drive, panoramic sunroof, + goodies on ultimate:Front view cameras Rear side window shades Power trunk closureReport it
I live in the midwest. The traction with stock tires are terrible in winter/snow. Even Hyundai must know this tire/car combo is not good for winter driving. They sent out a set of tire covers for snow. I haven't used them, but it seems like a hassle to put them on.Report it
kabirent1 I test drove the 2012 equus and i loved it. My only concern is that i live in chicago and im worried about some of our tuff winters with rear wheel drive only. Can u give me your thoughts, not sure what city you live in. I have test driven the 2012 lexus gs, 2012 Audi 6, BMW 2012 535 x, cadiillac cts 2012, Equus is by far the best ride so far.Report it
