maddogp, Go to this site for info and shop manuals: hmaservice.com.You will have to sign-üp but its free and then you can see all the service bulletins the tecs see. Good info. Also, check the bolts that hold the calipers on the vehicle for loose bolts as this will cause a bumping sound on rough pavement. I just had this to happen on a 2007 van and the service department and ... Read More
Just returned from the Hyundai dealer, they ordered an oxygen sensor, they said it's on the manifold (intake or exhaust, I forgot to ask) it wasn't in stock and they quote a simple R&R without having to program anything, no program updates or anything. After that's done, I'll post the results to see how it fared. They said a TPS issue would probably result in a VERY SIMILAR set of symptoms. ... Read More
it sounds like your having a TPS SENSOR PROBLEM, whenever the sensor goes south or the voltage is erratic, it throws the car into "limp mode" once in limp mode the car wont accelerate pass 35 mph its sort of like a fail safe systems. this vehicles carry a drive by wire system with an electronic throttle control, it uses the tps sensor and the accelerator pedal switch to determine how ... I bought my 2008 Entourage in Richmond, VA- at Pearson Hyundai- for 21,200 - out the door. I took in an advertisement (expired even) for 20,999 (including fine print- owner loyalty, military, new grad, etc. and excluding taxes/fees). I insisted I wanted teh 20,999 "out the door" they said they'd see what they could do. The guy came back with a price of 24k and some change after taxes, fees, etc. ... Read More
I have a 2008 Limited and it has front seat airbags and rear side curtain air bags The Entourage is listed as 5 star safety I pretty sure the GLS also has the airbag features To double check go on Hyundai web site Enjoy your car I know I have AND no problems :=)
I just purchased my 2008 Entourage GLS with premium package from the dealer with only 35 miles on it and think I got a great deal. Yay! However, this is considered a used car since it has been "titled" before and is considered a "demo". I purchased this car over the Honda Odyssey purely based on safety ratings and features. However, when I got home and was looking online (to reassure ... Read More
I purchased a new 2008 Entourage GLS off a dealer's lot in Columbus OH for $15640 including title and documents (not including tax). MSRP was $24865. I received a $4000 Hyundai discount, $4000 off from the dealer and a $1500 owner loyalty rebate. When the price roller itself out, I signed the agreement immediately. This was back in Feburary so good deals are out there.
Not a good deal for an as is Entourage. In Feb I purchased a brand new fully loaded Entourage after all rebates I purchased it for $24330 plus T&L it also had Blue tooth , Mud flaps, Cargo system, and bug deflector. The Entourage is discontinued so you should get a better deal. If not try the Kia Sedona ( same as entourage with slightly diferent front and rear) Kia is ... Read More
The first thing I would suggest is to read the various blogs on the Minivans you have some interest in. Although informative you must remember that these blogs are biased because people seem to complain more then the satisfied owners. Looks like GM and Dodge minivans won't be in business much longer so that might not be a wise choice at this time. That leaves Honda, Toyota, Ford (Flex) and Hyundai ... Read More
A reporter is interested in talking with owners of a 2008 or 2009 Hyundai Entourage who are also parents. If you are interested in commenting on your experience, please reply to jwahl@edmunds.com no later than Monday, November 3, 2008 and include your city and state of residence, the model year of your vehicle and the age of your child/ren.
I had a very similar experience and you will see some of my posts back in 2007. I bought my Entourage in January 2007 and reported a vibration issue within 3 weeks of owning the vehicle. Very long story short, in August 2008 (18 months after my purchase) I received a full refund for my Entourage. I had my vehicle in the shop 12 times, met with the regional Hyundai Representative ... Having third child and need to upgrade both cars. So looking to do best possible on price. Like the 2008 Hyundai GLS with the popular equipment package or the 2007 SE. Have been given a price of 23,092 for the "08. Have seen the '07 advertised for $17,995...(also '07 appears to get better mpg?) Would appreciate thoughts on how to get lowest deal. Entourage inventories don't seem very high. Is it ... Read More
Probably alot later on....I hear Hyundai is gonna stop making the Entourage in a year. But the Kia will still be made.
AND the Odyssey, Sienna, Grand Caravan, and Town & Country are the only 2008 minivans that have comfortable seating for 7 adults + sufficient luggage for a week long vacation....unless one gets a gas guzzling Suburban, Yukon XL, Escalade ESV, or Expedition. The Hyundai Entourage/Kia Sedona have very comfortable seats and leg space for driver, front passenger, and 2nd row passengers but the 3rd row seat is too low and has ... Read More

I've been looking at an Entourage limited with Sunroof package and a Honda Odyssey EX-L--I consider them to be roughly similarly equipped for our purposes. Last "final" quotes I got were surprising: Honda Odyssey-EX-L: $27,536 Hyundai Entourage Limited: $27,216 (including the rebate) The local Hyundai dealership has not been willing to deal at all, despite having eleven 2007 Entourages in their lot and the 2008s on the way. The Honda dealership ... Read More
I checked out your comment that the DVD does not have headphones. According to a dealer who has Entourages on the lot and has driven them, the Entourages do have headphones and gaming ports. If the Entourage didn't, it would be the only minivan on the market that didn't, including the Sedona. I mean, I wasn't there, but perhaps your salesman wasn't aware (the first salesman I talked to at a ... Read More
Re: the navigation system. Look for Hyundai and Kia to offer a nav system in the 2008 model year. Hyundai does not like to borrow the technology of others and is in the process of developing their own navigation system which should be available in many of their models next year. This info was from a reliable Hyundai dealer and has also been mentioned in other forums.
