2007 Elantra Starting issue

We are experiencing a problem with the car starting. It is not electrical. It seems to happen mostly when the feul is low. Car also heistates when you punch the gas on the highway. We have brought it to our local Hyundai dealer and they can not test it because there is a special adapter that needs to be attached to the feul pressure test kit made especially for this car. ... My 2007 Accent has a 60K (Severe Usage: Standard usage is 120,000 miles) timing belt interval as well, but ive Never changed it and it has 90,000 miles on it (all 89,032 mostly highway miles I put on it myself). I have a 2007 Hyundai Elantra with 34,000 miles that needs new transmission. It stared with the car shuttering between 35-40 mph then sometimes it would be like it missed a gear around 35-40mph. This seems like one of the more positive reviews of the Elantra Touring despite the intro statement. Based on the early specs, did anyone seriously think it would drive as sporty as a Maza3?? It is longer and has a smaller engine. And yes it definitely doesn't look very sporty either(The ET rear reminds me of a Volvo wagon a little, but the front is kind of sleek.)--- ... Read More...

I saw my first Touring (silver) at our local Raleigh, NC Hyundai dealer. Please note that I had two Elantra hatchbacks and now own a 2007 Sonota. It seems very odd that Hyundai would change its suppliers for the 2005 MY Elantra, then apparently change them again for the 2006 MY (the scores improved for 2006). Stats are useful, but can be misleading. We know, for example, that CR's reliability categories are based on numerical data. To be fair, numbers don't lie. Take the Corolla versus the Elantra (about equivalent class of vehicles). There is no doubt that both initial quality ratings as well as long term reliability show Corolla to be a clear winner. Can you please provide more details? For example, your warning is for all Hyundais made after 2006 with a pull lever parking brake. Why is it specific to 2007 and later Hyundais?
