My sons 2005 elantra transmission makes what I would call a lurch when it goes from 2nd to 3rd gear. 1st to 2nd is fine and 3rd to 4th is fine. Just on 2nd to 3rd makes kind of a small jerk foward, but not all the time, this just started. Is the tranny going to hell? also this is an automatic transmission. Read More...

I would 1) find out who has been slamming curbs with your car, 2) a better alignment shop, 3) what is wrong in the front suspension, or 4) make sure your tires are properly inflated. Alignment is not a particular issue with this generation of Elantra's, and definitely not to the extreme you are encountering. At 60K miles the alignment on my '05 was dead on. Same for ... No car should need alignment every six months. Have you had the car checked by a dealer or other mechanic to see why it needs the constant alignments? Also, did you buy the car new or used, and if used is there any chance the car was in an accident before you bought it? What symptoms are causing you to have the car aligned every six months? my elantra has a horrible alignment problems i have aligned it every six months since i have gotten it in 2006 and my tires are getting woren to the steel lining. are there any permanent fixes for this problem. other then going to get a alignment every six months :( Read More...

They sell for the lowest prices I've seen anywhere, not only Hyundai but Mazda and VW as well. I bought our 2006 Elantra GLS sedan automatic in December 2005 for just a tick above $13K, including tax, title, and license. Read More...
