I have had no trouble of any kind and i reckon it is better than many of the upmarket Euro cars i have owned in the past. The Genesis seems about 10k more than the Azera. The problem is, not many dealers are carrying the Azeras. I guess they don't sell well. Camissa Hyundai in Burlingame( San francisco Bay area) has none, although they do have a nice blue(rare)2010 Genesis with 15kmiles for 31k.You can get a 2010 Azera for around 16k.

I was in for service and looked at the 2010 Sonata. That is one nice car and more economical than the Azera now. I still like my 2007 though. My dealer replaced mine about 2 years ago along with the struts, it took care of the clunk and for a while the struts worked really well until the car developed a creak in the right front suspension. alymac, It has not been discontinued in the US. Azera 2010s are on US dealer lots and you can build one at hyundaiusa.com. However, I see that at hyundaicanada.com, you can't. I believe the "Next-gen Azera design" that the Hyundai USA CEO referred to is not for the 2011 MY. I think that the 2011 MY will just be a refresh and facelift and released second quarter of 2010. The new fully redesigned Azera may indeed be released in 2011 but will be for the 2012 MY. The 2011 MY refreshed Azera will probably look alot like the 2010 Grandeur. Additional information ... Tenpin...yes, I have seen the unveiling of the Cadenza (where do they come up with these names). It's based on that new VG platform...which is actually the sister platform on which the current Azera is based on. The latest I heard from my Hyundai dealer is that while there may be a 2010 Azera, The coming new Sonata will be larger and plusher and will apparently cover both the Sonata and Azera market.

I think we can be comfortably secure that a 2010 model would come. Infact, if you look at Hyundai's site, they show that a 2010 Veracruz is going to be available. If a car like Veracruaz, which sold in far far fewer numbers than Azera, could survive, I don't see why Azera wouldn't. As of late there may be more differences between Kia & Hyundai vehicles with Kia going in their own direction, but for the longest time...they were the Korean Ford/Mercury. I'm no expert, but from what I read there is a lot more difference between Hyundai and Kia vehicles. They really do not share that many components. Also, Hyundai only owns part of Kia, not the whole company. Having the two split as you advise would only work if the same dealer sold both brands and right now that is not going to happen. Yeah...the Optima was always the Kia version of the Sonata. It would make sense to do that since both brands are already established. Hyundai could eliminate the Accent, Elantra, Tiburon & Tucson and start their stable with the Sonata. Sonata, Azera, Genesis Sedan & Coupe, Veracruz, Entourage & Equus...a very good line-up to have for the premium line.

My feeling is that Hyundai/Kia are aligning to become the Lexis/Toyota of South Korea with Hyundai the Lexis class and Kia the Toyo competitor. The Kia Optimia has the same dimensions as the Camry. I saw a new one the other day in Maroon and it was a sharp looking car.

Apparently Hyundai does not want to hear from you if you are over 50, retired or do not have a "professional" job with high income. I have heard that many people who got in actually falsified their information which means their "population" is not what they think it is.

Funny thing...I was able to register, but I haven't had the time to sign on during one of their sessions. There's a couple of posters that have and they put some good info on here. By the way, the new Amanti has been widely showcased on other websites, including interior shots. I'm just not sure if it will come to America only as a Kia because of the Genesis sedan. There's no reason to believe that. You should register with the Hyundai Think Tank and you'll learn of new and exciting things that lie in wait for Hyundai. The Azera is indeed going to remain in the Hyundai stable. 2010 Azera?
I've seen discussions on here and elsewhere where people seem to think that Hyundai may discontinue the Azera. This is the only reason I haven't bought one yet (I'm expecting that if they are discontinued that the price will fall). Last night I visited (again) Hyundaiusa.com and noticed that the "build your own" feature works for all models except the Azera. Has anyone else had this experience?

Could it be that 09 is the last year for THIS body style? If you notice, Hyundai refreshes body styles every 4-5 years. And save for minor modifications, Azera's body style hasn't changed since 2006 & it is time for a refresh. I don't think Hyundai would get rid of FWD entry luxo like Azera. Confused? The new this summer Lincoln MKS is based on the Taurus platform (chassis) which is the Volvo S80 platform. The MKS has a tweaked Taurus V6.
