Hi, i just bought 2008 hyundai azera that has single disc player and navigation. It is missing AUX port. The car does not have bluetooth connectivity either. Can someone advise me on a product that allows me to listen music and take call on an iphone? thanks
I bought a 2008 Hyundai Azera about 2 years ago. After a few weeks I went back to the dealer and complained about the road noise. They acted like it was a problem no one had ever mentioned before and told me that the technician thought I should buy a new set of tires and have the wheels aligned. I did as nailahrenee had done, I moved my spare to the ... Read More
My 2008 Azera (purchased earlier this year) is having the same electrical problem you described. This is the 3rd time since August that it has been in to Hyundai service to correct the problem. The battery was replaced the first 2 times and they can't find the drain and after sitting 5 days, it was dead again. My frustration is mounting and I need help! Did anyone find a solution???
Hello all, I bought 2008 Azera Limited this Wednesday with 12,000 miles. And yesterday I noticed crack on dashboard. Should I call dealership or should I call Hyundai first? And I assume replacement will be covered by warranty, won't it? Thanks.
Please make sure you can afford a car- new or used - with the financing Priority offers. They suckered me into buying a used '06 Azera at a very high interest rate, financed thru Wells Fargo. Wow...all the hits the Azera took for its suspension issues and now, the 2006-2008 Azera has been chosen by Edmunds as one of the best used car values for the large sedan segment. Offering an upscale look inside and out and a number of unexpected luxury features for a reasonable price, the Azera also boasts the solid build quality and steadfast reliability that Hyundai is becoming known for. First off I really love my 09' Azera Limited (Ultimate Plus Package w/navigation and the upgraded sound system), what a great car for the money. It offers a lot of bang for the dollar, runs great and has a lot of creature comforts that cars costing considerably more fail to offer. I picked mine up used for $22k with only 7800 miles on it. It had a clean Carfax and was ... Read More
One of my keyless entry modules stopped working (2008 Azera Ltd) the other day. Key still opened and started the car though. I changed the fob battery but it still doesn't work. For anyone who has any doubts, my 2008 Azera Limited is doing fabulously, even after a major rear-end accident last year. If the rumors are true about positioning their models and brands upmarket are true, keeping the Sonata to a 4 cylinder and Azera to a 6 cylinder makes absolute sense. Uh... you do see that this particular forum is about the audio and entertainment for the Hyundai Azera, right????? Why are you complaining about limiting discussions in this forum to other areas when this is what this one is about???? There is a service forum. Maybe YOU should post your service issues there.
First off, gentlemen and ladies, would you please limit discussions about your service experiences to some other topic than the Audio and Entertainment one? It WOULD be practical and give you more exposure, one would think, right? :) Okay, on to the relevant topic. Ask your Hyundai dealer to do the Wide Open Throttle TSB. It is a software flash to the ECU. Also, ask him to reset the computer so that it learns & adjusts to your typical driving style. Azera's transmission 'learns' and adapts the the transmission to driver's style & stores the information. Maybe the previous owner was heavy-footed.

"RSM called someone and they reported that there is no change in the suspensions for 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 with the exception of now using the -040 struts. He also said there is no new strut or anything else on the 2008/2009 per his sources." I posted (somewhere) that there is indeed a new and different part number for the 2008 shocks. It is 54611-3L640 Haven't gotten around to asking ... Read More
The regional service manager and the dealership senior service manager and I went for a ride in my 07 Azera yesterday. I also had an oil change and rotation while there and we all looked under the car at the suspension components. Everything was normal. Bottom line, yes, it does bounce, but it is built that way to deliver a "soft" ride. Interestingly we also went for a ride in a ... Read More
Thank you for your concern. I hopefully like everyone else reading this post that shares this issue, would like to know the “true” reason why we have this problem. We have been lied to and mislead by our service advisors. Most of us have contacted Hyundai's corporate office only to be led back to the deanships service center. All I know is that once the struts were replaced the problem went ... Read More
Check out the Hyundai-Forums.com Azera site for more on suspension. Many of us have had the -041 struts replaced with -040's, but the improvement only lasted a couple of thousand miles. The noise and the bouncy/wallowing ride returns.
I hope this information helps you all... I purchased my 06 limited in 06 and it took Hyundai almost 2 years to correct the problem with the front end noise and the shaking/vibration in the steering wheel. I had 5 sets of new tires installed while they tried to figure out the problem and had gone through all type of balancing and still had the issue. When they finally gave up ... Read More
You might want to check the build date on your 2008. My 2008 was built on June 16, 2007 when Hyundai was still installing the front strut P/N 041 which has exhibited the noise problem. The 2008 brochure mentions an "all-new suspension for 2008" which I presume has the new front strut P/N 640 which was used after October 20, 2007 build date. The only reason I bought the 2008 Azera ... Read More
I now see that posts #951 and #952 in the forum "Hyundai Azera Front End Problems" do describe front suspension problems being experienced by owners of 2008 Azeras. I defer to you.
Interestingly I don't have the noise problem, but I do experience wallowing/bouncing over uneven road surfaces. Contact Hyundai Customer Assistance as you will get little help from the dealer. They did replace the struts on my 2007, but within a few months the problem returned. The Regional Service Manager is to drive it on the 17th, but he drove it once before and said it is normal. This time we're going ... Read More
Bob, you are an intelligent and sincere man. I respect your posts, and all the more since I have no Azera ownership experience of my own. But in the interest of fairness, I must note that Hyundai did say they completely redesigned the shocks themselves with a new "twin tube" design. Having not heard any reports of the problem so far with the 2008 models, and having not detected any problem ... Read More

Congrats on getting a great car. I had an 03 Camry XLE V6 and still have a RAV4. Tried very hard to sell myself on the Avalon Limited. Way too expensive, way too many add on costs that dealers would not take off and so forth. I think Toyoto/Lexus will price themselves out of their market soon - at least in the Southeast. Plus it is ugly inside and out. More ... Read More

I have a 2006 Azera Limited purchased new in Sept 2006 which I love. However I have now had 2 experiences of uncontrolled acceleration, the first in January 2008 and the second two days ago. Both occured in driveways at very low speed prior to stopping. Very scary but I managed to hit the brake and stop. No damage the first time but I did have some minor damage this last ... Read More
We bought two same Azera cars with ultimate package. I negotiated with many Chicago land dealers and this is how I rate them (1 is the best and 5 is worst) 1) Howard Hyundai [not easy to get a good price from internet but easy to work with personally to get the deal]. I bought two Azera from this dealer 2) Elgin Hyundai [not easy to get a good price from ... Read More

I think it's pretty impressive that in the 2008 Taurus, the new 3.5L Duratec hooked up to the same 6-speed automatic gets 2 MPG better on the Highway, and 1 MPG better combined compared to the 2007 Five Hundred with the old 3.0L Duratec. I'd say Ford definitely refined the Duratec V6: 60 more HP *and* better fuel economy. This new engine pulls the Taurus to 60 MPH in 6.8 seconds, ... Read More
I have a 07 Azera & I haven't had that trouble. But Hyundai recently put out a TSB for Sonatas for passenger Airbag sensor misprogramming. http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/16/hyundai-recalling-nearly-400-000-sonatas-to-c- heck-seat-sensor/ Now, although it is for Sonata & doesn't mention Azera, since Azera is built on Sonata platform & shares a large number of components, it might apply to you too. Check with your dealership & Hyundai corporate
The dealer replaced the -041 struts with -040's a few months ago with some improvement. I took the covers off the tops and noticed the below. The center post has a nut with a green mark on it. The round top plate under the nut has two green lines. One of the three posts holding the strut has a green dot in the center> Does anyone know what these marks mean? ... Read More
I don't think you'd have to worry about "taking your chances." The Azera is a solid and reliable car, even CR says so. After spending a week in a 2008 Azera Hertz rental, and comparing it to my uncle's Avalon in which I've had a lot of seat time, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Azera. I averaged 28MPG on a 1,600 mile trip, combined city and highway driving over a ... Read More
