No problems whatsoever after 37K mile.. Runs like new. Original plan was to replace the car when the waranty runs out (Aug 2012), but due to no-trouble history, will keep the car for 5 more years or major difficulty. I return the car at major service intervals to the Hyundai service department at Brandon, FL. Oil changes only have been accomlplished by local 10 minute oil change places, Seems to be ... Read More
I had the same problem with my rear shade in my 2007 Hyundai Azera, a loud buzzing sounds when it tried to go up or down. The dealership said they either need to replace a gear which costs just under $300+labor or replace the whole shade itself, costing just under $700+labor. I loved the shade but it't not worth the money for me right now so... a simple solution is to ... Read More
My car is a 2007 Azera Limited with XM. Putting in a used one would just open the door to it breaking again as it will still be two to three years old. Also, I really want the USB stick and option to use an iPod. I see, below, that someone has recommended and Alpine, single space. I will look into that. This is the low cost Chinese one but it ... I have a 2007 Hyundai Azera Limited with Infinity XM CD system. Would you be so kind as to summarize what I should do to improve the audio quality. I find it mediocre. From reading the posts, it seems like I should just replace the speakers in the doors and leave the rest alone. Is this correct? If so, which speakers do you advise?
2007 Azera Limited with 43000 miles on it bought new. I have not had any of the above mentioned tire problems, although I switched to Goodyear Assurance after 25000, and they are far superior to the OEM Michellins. Also have not had the squeaking dash problem. The only problem so far is that the windshield washers quit working a couple of weeks ago. I'll get them checked out when I take ... Read More

" Weasel " is a great choice of words. It would appear that the Hyundai warranty is merely a marketing tool and has very little substance. My 4 year old Azera doesn't have a lot of miles, but they have denied a couple of my warranty claims - chipped steering wheel and a plastic cover under the car. A fabulous car, but the long warranty is a joke.
My 2006 has just over 10100 miles on it and i too have a bit of a leak from the top of the engine. I figured that Hyundai would weasel their way out of replacing it under warranty (leak started around the 80k mark). So...instead, I'll just have it replaced when I get the spark plugs done since the have to take apart the top part of the engine while doing ... Read More
I took my 2007 Azerea with 98,000 miles on it to the Hyundai dealership today for service. Well. Evidently there isn't one. I don't have a copy on my computer file and I've looked through the current Hyundai ones and it's not there, so no TSB. But there have been so many reports of this problem on the blogs, with dealers replacing the dash tops, it should be known to all dealers, so if one dealer gives you scat about it, try another dealer...
I too have an '07 with all of the problems you describe. The split in the dash almost looks as if had been precut to add a speaker. There is no way this in "normal" and yet another problem Hyundai either can't or is unwilling to fix. I can live with the crack, but the suspension noise is driving me crazier than I already am.
Oskidunker1, I had Goodyear Assurance TripleTred tires on a 2002 Mercury Marquis and they went 70,000 miles before I had to replace them due to wear. I traded this car in on a new 2007 Hyundai Azera. Now that I'm ready to purchase, I discovered seven of them have been sold. The remaining three are program cars with many miles on them (none under 6,000 miles). Sure, I still could buy a 2007, but without driving more than two states away, ... Read More
Congratulations, but what did the dealer do for strut assembly on the 2008? Will Hyundai provide new ones? Took a ride in an Acura RL yesterday and it rides so much better, but for $40,000 it should. Soon as I got back in my Azera, I immediately noticed the bouncing/wallowing over any road imperfections which resulted in the impact harshness in the seats. This is with the 040 strut replacements. Would ... Read More
I've decided to buy a new 2007 Azera Limited. To help kill the time until I make the purchase, I posted a blog with my thoughts about my decision. The post also includes several video reviews, a couple of Azera commercials and an IIHS crash test video. Feel free to check it out at http://blog.wintermeyer.us/2008/03/hyundai-buddy-hyundai.html - Chris
Captain, you should know better, lol. I changed after first 1500, then every 7500 since. I do hope you are right about my Michelins, since they are the original equipment tire on an Azera. 235-55-17 MXV4 S8 model ($202 ea. at Tire Rack), I will be thrilled If I get 50K out of them. They have been a great tire for me, so far. My guess is that Discount Tire might ... Read More
Got a nice, 6 page flyer in the mail today offering $500 off a 2007 or 2008 Azera. Since I already own a 2007 Limited, think I'll pass on it. Apparently Hyundai is sending it out to all current Hyundai owners. :)
I agree as it seems Hyundai reduces the prices of their vehicles a lot more than others. Probably paid a lot less than anywhere close to MSRP for the Sonata.
That sure doesn't say much for Sonata resale value, especially from a Hyundai dealer!
Sage green with black interior (NO XM satellite) and 6500 miles on the odometer. Because the car was a Hyundai corporate car and was never titled, it is considered a new car for warranty, road side assistance, and rebates. The MSRP on this car was 30,475 and the invoice 28,441. Here's the deal I got: Price: 25,788.00 Trade -11,500.00 Doc Fee 150.00 Sales Tax 938.48 Mass Transit Fee 20.00 License Fee ... Read More
They don't have to. That is very true. Toyota stops advertising and it can still sell their cars by the lots ;) More reasons makers such as Hyundai has to be even more aggressive, to convince their products are up to snuff, and the general public gives a chance in the first place. This is good news, from today's Auto News, it ranks Hyundai just behind Toyota and Lexus nameplates (so ... Read More
Thanks but I am talking about the signs which seem to be pointing to the improvement of the brand, in terms of depreciation and resale value, which is reality..
retained value or residual percentages mean nothing, it is still gross dollars out of pocket, the more you talk about it maybe the more you will understand it. There is something else at work here - car desirability and how that might effect how close you might get to anybody's value estimates. IT goes like this - If I'm out trading in an Avalon on a more premium brand car. the ... Read More
I didn't go feature by feature but the Azera limited checks in at a MSRP of $28,030, per KBB, while the Avalon limited runs for $34,725. The raw upfront cost (MSRP) difference is 6,695. So, Azera: 20,800 / 28,030 = 74.21% retained value Avalon: 26,000 / 34,725 = 74.87% retained value 25.79% depreciation for the Azera vs. 25.13% for the Avalon
That is TMV not real world. TMV is certainly useful for normalizing some of this information, but that's where it ends. Based on misalignments and carpet wear and the like and not knowing all the details I went to kbb.com and put in a 2007 Azera with 19000 miles in fair condition in 90210. Highest trim level. Private party value was a tad over $17,000. Excellent condition, $20.8K Trade in value: ... Read More
This stat certainly surprised me but nevertheless attributed to the improvement of the brand: Retained Value Edmunds' TMV® calculator values the Azera at $21,838 after 18,530 miles. This equates to 27 percent depreciation from its original MSRP and ranks it just behind its competitors in resale worth. Our Toyota Camry depreciated by a similar 26 percent margin at the conclusion of its long-term test, although it had an additional 3,000 miles ... Read More
Hey Joe...THANK YOU for understanding what I've been saying all along on this matter. The numbers are closer than those care to admit or concede to. ;)
Sounds right - for 2009 here. My 2008 Azera was manufactured in July, 2007. They were not sold anywhere in the US until after New Years Day = 6 months' lead time (and yes, I know - it should have been only 3). Even if it were moved into production today, it wouldn't show up here until about that time, anyway (that's assuming there isn't a surplus of non-Limited model vehicles ... Read More
