Congrats on your new car to start the new year! I like a lot about the Fiesta but the rear seat is too tight for my needs. I am disappointed about the Accent's relatively poor showing in the IIHS tests. I was leaning to the Accent SE hatch with 6MT as the top choice for my next car, as it has everything I need for a reasonable price. But now I'll ... Read More

I hope your the Economy on your 2012 Accent LE is NOT indicative of what (most) Accents and Rio`s are going to achieve with their much touted 1.6 GDI engine. My 2011 Ford Fiesta SE Hatchback (without) the optional SFE package and 6 speed automatic transmission has consistently produced 33 mpg city with AC engaged 100% of the time and 41 mpg or better highway driving at 70 to 80 mph. ... Hi carfreak09, good to hear from you, I remember your posts from 2000 when my Accent was a new car. Good luck with your 2010, I hope you enjoy it for a good long time. My odometer just flipped over to 140,000 miles. Who would have thought that a Hyundai would last so long? I replaced my spark plug wires at around 100,000 miles due to deterioration from being oily. I finally got to check out the new Accent hatch while at my local dealership for a (free) oil change on my 2004 Elantra GT. It was a grey SE with AT, mats, cargo mat. Overall a nice package: good-looking alloys, enough room in back for me to sit behind myself in some comfort (5'10"), very nice dash with piano black trim. However, I think Hyundai messed up in some small ... Read More

Thank you everyone for your insight into buying cars! I have test driven Toyota Yaris, Corolla, Mazda 6, Subaru Impreza, a last generation Hyundai Elantra and Accent and... Today I drove home in a 2010 Toyota Corolla. I was looking at 2 Corollas. One for $13.6k from Hertz as a previous daily rental with 44k on the odometer and one for $14.8k at the nearby Toyota dealership with 9k on the ... Read More

I took my car in to get an oil change and they had 2 2012 Accent GLS sedans on the lot, one with the auto and one with the manual. I decided to take a test drive of both and see how much of an improvement Hyundai made. Well folks, let me tell you, the 1.6 GDI and new 6 speed trannys are everything Hyundai described and than some. I was ... Read More

That's fantastic to hear about your experience with Hyundai! I've been keeping an eye out for last gen Sonatas for sale because they're some of the earliest vehicles to have things like stability and traction control in the midsize class, and they're two features I'd very much like to have. Any word on when these used car values are supposed to drop? I'd prefer not to spend every dime I've saved ... Read More

I am hoping H will bring the Sonata wagon to the US, and that will be my second H vehicle in the driveway. In case they don't, does anyone have any figures on interior legroom, headroom, etc on the 2012 Accent 5 door so I can compare ... Read More

Let's look at this from a practical POV... if Hyundai could sell 5,000 Accent 3-door hatches in the USA per month, it would be a no-brainer to offer one. The fact they probably will not offer one in the USA tells us they know they won't sell enough of them to make it worth their while. They're not stupid, and they're not a charity--they are in this for profit. If there's ... Read More

You aren't quite understanding what I'm saying. My preference is for roomy 2 door hatchbacks and this preference probably goes all the way back to my first car which was an 84 Rabbit GTI. I could have bought a 2010 Elantra 5 speed for $600 more than my Accent. My preference for the Accent's styling, practicality, and automatic won out over the bigger more luxurious Elantra. I love Miatas. I used ... Read More

In my city, the 3 door Accents are all you see, unless its a rental. I literally see 3 of my car every single day. If you check the Hyundai forums elsewhere, the vast majority of owners have the 3 door. Being that so many automakers have abandoned the 3 door market, Hyundai practically had a lock on all the sales, which amounts to easily 40,000 a year, if not more. ... Read More

Excellent deal!! Well below invoice. Wait, did that include any rebates? You got your better equipped SE for less than my GS. I'm a little jealous :) We both have Nordic White too! Congrats and welcome to the Accent fold. You might want to check out http://www.hyundai-forums.com There is a wealth of info there.

I just paid $14,600 ($13,708 without tax, tag, and documentation fees) out the door at Lee Hyundai in Fayetteville, NC for a Nordic White five-speed 2010 Accent SE three door. I handled the whole thing over the internet and the dealership was great. They beat every other dealer I talked to on their first offer.

I hadn't noticed that no 2011 Elantra pricing had been released. Interesting. Perhaps they are introducing the new Elantra before the new Accent. This is very odd since the Accent has been around since 06 and is most in need of being overhauled safety wise. If the Elantra hits showrooms in December as a 2011 model, I don't think we will see the 2012 Accent until the summer. Matter of fact ... Read More

There's talk of a new 2011 model, which I wouldn't expect to see before late 2010 since the Accent was last redesigned in late 2005. If you search on "2011 Hyundai Accent" you can find a number of articles and pics; here's an example: http://www.autospies.com/news/2011-Hyundai-Accent-Sedan-Spotted-Baby-Genesis-in-- Utero-all-Camo-ed-up-48407/ Note the family resemblance to the 2011 Sonata and the upcoming Elantra.
