Great Car
Vehicle
2006 Hyundai Accent GLS 4dr Sedan (1.6L 4cyl 4A)
Review
This is a great car. Fun to drive and great gas milage. Mine is an automatic and it gets up and goes. I get around 38mpg on the road and around 34 in town. I'm not afraid to go anywhere in my car. Read other reviews, not getting good gas milage. Don't understand why.
Favorite Features
Great gas milage. Handles great. Good ride and confy.

Would be nice to have power windows

Excellent car to own. Sometimes need to double clutch to get in reverse gear. But this is only a slight inconvenients - not a problem to be concerned about. Excellent car to tow behind a Motorhome, just put in neutral, turn key to "ACC", and off you go (I pull the fuse for the dash on long tows).
Favorite Features
1. Size - ease of parking and maneuvering. 2. Gas mileage - 33mpg 3.Good power and acceleration
Suggested Improvements
1. Make sliding into reverse gear easier. 2. Change owner's manual to identify ability to tow behind a Motorhome.

Entry level almost premium quality

2006 Hyundai Accent GLS 4dr Sedan (1.6L 4cyl 4A)
Review
I´ve had the car for six months now, the build quality for its price is excellent, the ride, handling and the motor are better than my honda jazz/fit, but you have to sacrifice on gas mileage and top premium finish. The stereo is good compared to cars in its price range. I bought this car vs onother honda jazz/fit, because of its lower price, more space and motor.I love my honda, but liked more the looks of the hyundai sedan, its larger interior space and more motor. If you prefer low gas mileage and don´t mind small interior and like top premium quality materials for a compact sedan, get the honda, for space, larger motor and good quality built at low price, get the hyundai.
Favorite Features
Best features in the car, are the ride quality, it easily competes with my honda jazz/fit, and maybe better. Quality materials not as good as the honda, but it´s just below the honda.
Suggested Improvements
Poor gas mileage for a 1.6ltr. engine, but an advantage is it responds well for such a mall engine and for being automatic.

2006 Hyundai Accent GLS 4dr Sedan (1.6L 4cyl 5M)
Review
this car does everything you could ask it to, never breaks, doesent complain and cruises at 80 getting 28mpg. (I live in Utah) Its not fancy, but it comes with everything standard. It is highly recommended by me. Also my Neighbor bought one and so did his sister after driving ours, They also are very pleased. I am glad I didnt buy the Toyota or Honda. The money I saved buys me gas for a few years!
Favorite Features
The whole car, It is a true value.
Suggested Improvements
More attractive dash, better placed cup holders in front
Great drive for its money

I´ve had the car for five months and the pro´s are: great soft and smooth ride for a car its class, soft and no outside noise, good noise insulation and good stereo for the price, and lots of amenities. Great room for its size, good trunk space, and great handling in curves. The cons: not great gas mileage 21 to 23 miles per gallon on the city, if you don´t drive fast; but if you are those of whom, like driving fast it will give you less than 20 miles per galon, but the car will respond fast enough for city needs, and its fun! On mountain roads you have to push the acelerator, but the ride is stable on fast curves,I personaly use the 2nd gear, and turn off the overdrive and it responds nice!
Favorite Features
The stereo, the softness and smoothness of the ride, the cup holder in the armrest,in the back seat, the roominess for its category, slow dimming light when you close the doors, the trunk lift gate and gas open notch, beside the drivers seat. The ride when you want to drive fast, its fun enough!
Suggested Improvements
Number one the gas mileage, my Honda Odysey gives me a little less mileage than the accent, but its a 6 cilinder! A 1.6 manual transmision or a 1.8 or a better mileage on the automatic. Bigger tires for standard option.

lousey mileage

2006 Hyundai Accent GLS 4dr Sedan (1.6L 4cyl 4A)
Review
My absolute foremost reason for buying this car was for the gas mileage. The mileage I am getting stinks, city and highway . The car is nice and quiet on the road but without cruise control and without the promised 36MPG I would rather be in my 2004 Forester that gets a solid 28MPG on the road. Other owners report good mpg. Are you driving at a steady 50 with no a/c and a brick (cruise control) on the pedal?

A car that competes with a bigger class
Vehicle
2006 Hyundai Accent GLS 4dr Sedan (1.6L 4cyl 4A)
Review
Here in Mexico it´s one of the best cars for your money.Being rated one of the best new comers in its class for the following reasons:Motor:only top premium sub compact cars, like Toyota or Honda, had CVVT Continous Variable Valve Timing, plus 16 valve, plus double overhead cams, which means more power, with more fuel efficiency,(top modern technology)but at a Hyundai Price. As being automatic transmission, its not to dull,it just takes a couple of seconds but once the gear is in,watch out,you won´t notice you´ve past your speed limit. It rides like a car of a bigger class, soft & smooth, better space than Toyota Yaris and Honda Civic and it rivals with Ford Focus, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla etc.
Favorite Features
Stereo better than the medium cars, also the interior space, the technology of its motor equals to the subcompact premium cars, build quality "it´s touching japanese heels" as says Motor Trend & Automobile Magazine.Design: much more character than the Toyota Yaris.A subcompact that rivals with mediums.
Suggested Improvements
A 1.8 engine or a 2.0

My Accent
Vehicle
2006 Hyundai Accent GLS 4dr Sedan (1.6L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I have been very satisfied with my new Hyundai. I have actually exceeded the mpg of 36.54 on highway and avg 30-34 city driving. The handling is great. I spend much time in it and feel very comfortable. Car experts I've talked to say it can easily go 300,000 miles if taken care of properly.
Favorite Features
Dashboard is excellent. Easy to read and reach while driving. I also have a XM Radio for long drives in West Texas. Air bags all around gives you a feeling of protection not found in many vehicles.
Suggested Improvements
Automatic windows, doors and fog lights would be nice.

Review
Tranny on my Dodge truck went out at 81K miles, swap tranny for ~ $4000?? or look for another car??. Bought this 2006 Accent, great choice!!. The mileage doubled, very impressed eith entire car. Have a 2000 Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Accent puts it to shame for the same price, hands down. Give this a look, very surprized at nice quality and fun to drive, plenty of romm for an econo box, hats off to Hyundai ...American auto builders wake up !!
Favorite Features
Quality of car, fun to drive, gas savings. Seats have nice support. Nice standard built in CD/Stereo with 6 speakers.
Suggested Improvements
Change to uniform color of dash lights- looks like a christmas tree!! Cruise control would be nice for us leadfoots. Larger main rear view mirror. Get rid of those hoky built in wheel covers.

Best Bet for Dollars and Sense
Vehicle
2006 Hyundai Accent GLS 4dr Sedan (1.6L 4cyl 4A)
Review
This is the best little car I ever drove. It's comfortable, roomy, tight brakes, excellent handling during turns, better than average stereo system, quiet motor, relatively low road noise, and gets reasonable gas milage. Much more comfortable and roomy than my previous Honda Civic. I feel like I'm sitting higher up, which helps me "aim high in steering". And at less than $13K, it's a steal. I'm very happy with this vehicle and would highly recommend it!
Favorite Features
Comfortable seats, quiet engine, low road noice, smooth ride, tight brakes and excellent handling. Spunky engine with good acceleration (for a car this size). Great accident protection with 6 airbags and antilock breaks--all standard.
Suggested Improvements
Maybe make some of the inside plastic parts look more sophisticated. Also, some front and back bumper extension would be nice.
