I have driven Hyundai's since 1995. A 95 Accent , 02 Elantra, and a 05 Elantra . I still drive the 05 . I put 147k on the Accent before i gave it to my son when i brought the 02 . He proceeded to hit every thing with it . Air bag deployed and side swiped a car . The car was a trooper ... it still ran for 40k ... Read More
I think Hyundai has to build the Accent and Rio to be cost competitive in Asian and Latin markets; even low-end Euro. In Asian markets, they don't have much in the way of airbags, even front airbags (passenger front airbags are even extra cost options on Toyotas in Thailand!). So to make the Accent/Rio "upscale" for America, Hyundai just installs the extra gear it's easy to leave out in Asian markets. ... Read More
My '01 Elantra was still in great shape cosmetically and mechanically when I sold it to my sister (brakes at 90% front, 85% rear for example) so I have no reason to think a '06 Accent would not last 4-1/2 years longer than that if it is maintained properly. And I just saw a 1995 or 1996 Accent the other day--looked quite good, at least on the outside. The reason I ... Read More
there could be lots of things that need servicing / replacing on your second hand motor. Depends what's been, and what's not been done in the last four years of services. if you have all the paper work for the car, what's been done at each annual service, that would help you out no end. Check your fan belt, if it's looking worn and perished it could well need replacing, the ... Read More
I just bought a 1995 Hyundai Accent 3-door hatchback. It has 113,000 miles on it. I was wondering what to check on the car, I mean, general stuff that I may need to take care of. If anyone has any helpful hints I'll be very grateful. Thanks.
Had a 1992 Excel which was very good. Now have an 2002 Accent which is very good. If you can get the 1995 for very, very cheap...buy it. If not, get one a few years newer, they to are very cheap. If it has been maintiained, it is just as good as any used car in the price range, if not better.
I am looking at buying a 1995 Hyundai Accent for my daughter. I have a friend who is a car salesman and said never to buy a Hyundai - they are nothing but trouble. Any comments? Thanks!
I have a 1995 Accent 2 dr model. I have 129,000 miles on it, and have been very happy with it. I love the way it handles and zip around in it. It's a sort of pink color, which I get teased about, but the registration says it's Barcelona Red. I get an average of 35 mpg for highway/city mixed miles. I've noticed if I load the car down for my ... Read More
Congrats....my 2000 is Coastal Blue, I think it's an awesome color. On a really bright sunny day, it starts to look 'purplish'. I found that both of my Accents are more than acceptable for the price I paid. And, majorthomecho, back in post # 510 you are the one that brought up the recall issues on the 1995 Accent. If you actually did go to the NHTSA website and READ these ... Read More
Hello all...I ususally don't post here since I got a new 2001 Focus ZX3...HOWEVER..I still have my 2000 Accent L and my 1995 Accent. Just wanted to tell you guys what a truly awesome car this really is. Although the 2000 is a MAJOR improvement over the 1995, I just wanted to share this: OK, I bought the 95 in Feb, 95 before it was "officially" released and no-one even new ... Read More
I have owned 38 cars. Of those, 3 didn't run when I bought them and never did until after I sold them to someone who was willing to do the necessary repairs. 3 of them I wrecked. 9 of them I broke all by myself and didn't fix before selling. 2 got reposessed. And 2 I still have. The other 19 cars ran fine when I sold them and I either ... Read More

I was only a used of this car and used it in PA suburb area only. If someone interested, please see my web page, http://webideas.com/car or contact me via e-mail: kbrd@usa.net
