Ever since I set eyes on my car-it took
my breath away. Driving is a dream.
The car is solid and heavy like a
Mercedes so safe to go on road trips.
Good size trunk, unique features, and
you will have a fan club wherever you
go. Mouths drop when you drive by...if
only they knew what it was like behind
the wheel:+) Best thing I've ever
done. Just make sure you wave to the
rest of us when you pass by...there are
only a minimal number of S2000's
produced by Honda each year.
Seats hold you like a glove. Engine
start button. Main console. Sleek
design. Wide, solid, and smooth ride.
My color: blue!
Only thing I can come up with is the
cupholder. The one provided doesn't
allow much secureness with those big 20
ounce bottles. That's pretty much it!
I've had my car for almost a month, and
it's my daily driver. I went from
driving a Civic to this, so I was a
little apprehensive at first about
living with this car on a daily basis.
After the first week, it was clear --
this car is worth every penny I paid
for it. It's unbelievably fun to drive,
has an amazing gearbox (almost unreal
how smooth shifting it is), is rock
solid, and I get so many looks from
other people. Passing situations are
also a breeze, if you see a hole in
traffic, you can get there with this
car. The engine sounds amazing also, I
love to rev this baby! And best of
all, it's a Honda, so you know
reliability won't be a problem
power top that goes down in 6 seconds;
snug but very comfy seats that wrap
around you; amazing power, handling,
gearbox; surprisingly decent fuel
economy -- I got 31 mpg on a recent
road trip! Couldn't believe it myself -
went 330 mi on 10.6 gallons!
more interior storage; gas-strut hinges
for trunk to maximize space; maybe an
integrated boot behind the seats where
the top can stow when it's down, for a
cleaner look (that removable boot is a
pain to use)
My wife decided to have herself a
sports car for her birthday. One of her
colleagues recommended the Honda S2000,
earning my lifelong indebtedness.
Within an hour of our drive to the
dealership, she had her car.
Weeks later, she allowed me to drive
her home in it following an exhausting
week at work. Wow! What fun! No wonder
she chose to drive it all the time. (We
have two other vehicles.) It's
everything I ever wanted in a muscle
car in my youth combined with the
sporty cars I always coveted as a young
adult. Now, at this stage of my life,
I'd have to say that it compares
favorably to Viagra.
My favorite feature is that little four
with the 9000 rpm redline and kick-in-
the-pants acceleration when you hit
about 6500 rpm in the lower gears.
That's when the S2000 seems more akin
to a motorcycle than a car.
I'd like to see a few more exterior
color selections in new model years.
(I've got a feeling this little gem
will be around for a long time, and one
of these days, I hope I have one too.)
Only two negatives, no storage room on
the interior and you need to rev the
engine past 3000rpm to get any power
from a stopped position; otherwise this
car is great to drive, lot's of power
once the engine rpms are up, classic
road feel, smooth gearbox, very
comfortable driving position in nicely
contoured sport seats and great
handling. Buy it in yellow so everyone
can see you coming down the street.
