"In the Z, I feel secure and sure-footed." "The Z is faster than the Honda in the 1/4 mile, in the time to 30 and in the time to 60. And in the all-important 60 to 0." If you are looking for a car that is fast and secure, have you checked out the Subaru Legacy GT and MazdaSpeed6? Both cars accelerate faster than the 350Z, and they have the bonus ... Read More

Hey Dwynne, I know you and I have been chatting regularly here so I wanted to run this by you.... Two scenarios 1) 2003 Red S2000 with less than 3000 miles and is in pristine condition with an asking price of $23,999. I can probably get them to come down 500 but I imagine that would be it. 2) 2006 Laguna Blue with less than 4500 miles and it too is ... Read More

Well, enough about the "Z would be outhandled" by a S2000. A friend of mine owned an S2 and ranted and raved, so much so I actually went to purchase one, never having test driven the Z. I own two sportsbikes, so speed and agility matter and I think, despite being a girl, I have a pretty good handle on which car is, hands-down, the best bang for your buck. After ... Read More

Have you considered a new 2006? They can be purchased at around $31,000, whereas a used, low mileage 2004/5 will probably sell for $25,000+, at least in our area. For that relatively nominal savings, I'd rather have a new one with a full 3/36 warranty and the ability to break it in properly myself. I do know of someone who bought a low mileage 2003 for $23,800, but he specifically wanted ... Read More

I've read about the S2000 losing control without warning and without allowing recovery. I never experienced a sudden loss of control in 2.5 years and 19,000 miles. On the other hand, the S2000 is a lighweight roadster and the OEM high perfomance summer tires are not great in heavy rain (and horrible in snow). I drove my S2000 when it was relatively new on a 250 mile highway drive in steady ... Read More

  • Last Day (maybe?) for super lowe HondaCare prices?

Written by: dwynne on Aug 31, 2005 6:32:43 AM

www.hondawarrantyinfo.com (this is Bernardi Honda in MA) is blowing out the prices on HondaCare right now. We know the HC plans undergo changes tomorrow (9/1/2005) - but it might be a great time to score a deal today. Some examples: 2005 Odyssey 7 years/75,000 miles warranty: ($50 deductible = $681.00) OR ($0 deductible = $746.00) 7 years/100,000 miles warranty: ($50 deductible = $971.00) OR ($0 deductible = $1,051.00) 2005 CR-V 7 ... "Improved suspension with softer ride" Some might contend that improved and softer in a sports car are contradictory terms ;) My take on a 2005 S2000 vs. the former 2002 model I owned for 2.5 years is that the ride is slightly rougher over bumps, not softer, probably due to the lower profile 17" wheels. I also think the interior changes are a aesthetic net negative. I thought my 2002 all ... Read More

Hi Zelda, I had the 2003 S 2000 and when I traded it in for my 2004 Accord I was sick! I really missed the car. Now I just purchased the 2005 S 2000. This may be the last one they will make because Honda will bring back the revamped Prelude next year. Because of the resale value of the S 2000 you are much better off getting a new one. ... Selling price has little to do with how much money Honda made on the S2000, unless there was dealer money on the car the dealer paid invoice less hold back no matter what they charged. Now the price you COULD get is a direct reflection of how well or how poorly the car was doing, sales-wise. With limited production each dealer knew they would only get a few so would not ... Thanks again. This is much clearer than what was written above. I didn't know you could get a refund on the unused portion of the extended warranty. We had an 2003 Honda Pilot that we just traded in for a VW. I would have used it for the S2000 instead. Oh well.

  • Rough shift - grinding

Written by: motis on Jan 24, 2005 5:07:29 PM

Greetings all - I have been following this forum for some time and recently purchased a 2005 S2000. I have noticed in the past couple of days there is a grinding feeling when shifting from first to second; it's consistent occurrence, not present only if I shift much more slowly, letting the RPM's fall significantly (I don't normally shift quickly). It's not a long grinding, only a quick feeling of 2-3 ... Read More
