Likely you will have to buy the entire head unit from a 2009-2012 Ridge, but I would double check to be sure that the player in whatever head unit you find will actually play MP3 discs. Given that Honda installs really low-end sound systems in all their vehicles, I might suggest looking in to an after-market head unit. For sure you will need new speakers too, as Honda's are really poor. ... Read More
Actually, 34-35 lbs is only a couple above what Honda recommends. It should not be an issue at all. Mfrs have to compromise between mpg, tire life, and ride comfort. I've noticed the slightest increase in ride firmness, about the only penalty driving a couple of psi over. Need more time to evaluate mileage. With Ford's new ecoboost engine, and the mileage/hp ratings of some others, I have to wonder the ... Read More
As I recall, the transmissions used in the Ridgeline starting in 2006 were the first "new" 5-speed transmissions used by Honda since they had all their transmission problems in most of their vehicles--like the problems you have had with your MDX. The same transmission has been used in the Odyssey since 2008. We just picked up a new 2010 RL RTL to replace our 2008 RL RTS. It turns out that ... Read More
I saw this at a local dealer. Mileage: 11,645 Body Style: Crew Cab Pickup (includes camper shell, or whatever you call it) Exterior Color: Taffeta White Anyone buy a used 2008 RTS? Want to know what the lowest successful price people have gotten. Thanks!
I went for the 2009 due to the changes from the 2008, particularly around bluetooth, MP3, and the backup camera. The interior, I think, is also a little nicer. I ended up at Capital City Honda down in Olympia. I ended up with about $2800 under invoice and the experience in the end was quite good. Email me if you need more info. I know a few other deals who had ... Read More

got it sorry - Boch Honda -- appreciate the info
On the 2009, it looks like all radios can play a MP3 (via www.honda.com and the Ridgeline pages). Honda site did not easily show the 2008's any longer. From info on Edmunds, it looks like with the Nav option there is a MP3 player input. Why don't you call your local Honda dealer and ask them? Especially the place where you have found a 2008. This is the salemen's job. The ... Read More
I was going to treat myself to a new 2009 RTL, but based on the financial status of our economy, I think it's best to wait and see, There was no need to go out and reward myself with a new vechicle, since my 2004 Honda CRV-EX is fine, with very low milease. I still cait believe there our still 147 2008 Ridgeliner's in a 30 miles radius of my zipcode. ... Read More
There are only four RTX's available in the five state area. None here in Minnesota. Ken Vance in Eau Claire, WI has a red one Community Honda in Waterloo, IA has a red one Ken Wise in Marshalltown, IA has a red one And Zimbrick in Madison, WI has a white one. There are only 18 2008 Ridgelines left in the state on Minnesota. Mostly RTL and RTL navi.
"Honda is delaying the 2009 model release until January." - ida4128 WRONG! Two 2009 Ridgelines just hit the lot today. Not a moment too soon either, we're down to our last three 2008 Ridgelines. Honda's web site just changed to the 2009 as well.
I just bought a Ridgeline RTX today (8/30/2008) in Dallas, Texas. SUMMARY $ 21,245 Truck $ _1,328 Tax $ __ 227 Title, etc. $ 22,800 Out The Door (OTD) I have no idea whether that is a good deal or not. I heard today the new exterior colors will be Sterling Gray, Bali Blue and Mocha Matallic. Officially, the new colors, trucks and pamphlets will be available on 9/3 per Honda. I hope my source was correct on the colors. With the information posted on the various discounts for the 2008 model, I am trying to make a decision on whether to hold out for a 2009, prices unknown. "mplshondadlr tries to invoke fear by saying that if you wait thinking you can buy lower later, then you will miss the boat." (I said that when?) Nice -- I'm creating fear? What ever, take the tinfoil hat off. My dealership has just three Ridgelines left for the 2008 model year. Thats it, nothing else in-bound. This is laughable. Published invoice figures for many autos have been nominal figures for many years. This is especially true for the last few years on trucks. Trying to take a calculator and determine dealer cost is silly because you don't know their cost. Honda is especially notorious for advertised and unadvertised dealer incentives (no factory to consumer rebates at all). Many are purchasing Ridgelines from dealers used for under kbb ... Read More
There are dealers in the Denver area, who are selling 2008 RTL w/nav for $25,700---that is a great deal. Effectively $8,000 off. Do not pay more than that anywhere. Denver is the best place in the US for Honda to get a premium price on their trucks. If they are discounted that much here--they will be the same or less most other places. We have that wonderful combination of nice weather ... Read More
I really don't know. Some states regulate a maximum and some don't. Get all bids via email OTD (either price with all dealer fees or fees taxes and tags). $4,500 cash back makes this truck pretty attractive. I know the economy is bad, but I think Honda didn't price this truck right from the beginning. anyone trying to sell a used Ridgeline purchased a couple years ago however are going have to take a big hit if they want to find a buyer.
Hey everyone, Although Honda is pretty quiet about this promotion, you can really save a bunch on a new 2008 Ridgeline.. I just got a 2008 RTX, MSRP of 29,200, for $22,200 - a savings of $7k on the sticker. This was a brand new vehicle.. not demo, no catches. Apparently there is a lot of rebate money being given to the dealers at the moment, but they don't want to ... Read More
Hi gmaroun. Despite the fact that Honda is currently providing $3,500 dealer cash on the 2008 Ridgeline, only $1,000 dealer cash is available on leases of it through Honda Finance. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum
Hi All, I recently started an all out quest for quotes in the NJ/NYC area. I noticed most honda dealers not all will use the traditional method of selling the car. Simply put, they place a middle man who has no power of making the deal or numbers. Their job is to make you act on impulse. Enough of that. Being a currrent America Honda Finance Customer, I was able to ... Read More

Hey idahovandal. Honda significantly recently raised its dealer cash for the 2008 Ridgeline from $1,500 to $3,500. Its buy rate lease money factor for the '08 Ridgeline is currently .00102 for consumers who qualify for its "Super Preferred" credit tier and pay ... Read More
Greetings lakeshor. Honda Finance's money factors are the same, regardless of what a vehicle's mileage allowance is. 15,000 miles per year is the highest mileage allowance that Honda Finance publishes residual value percentages for. If you need to drive more than this, you will have to purchase additional miles on a per-mile basis. It is less expensive to do so at lease signing than it is to wait until the end ... Read More

Hi d0ug. Honda's special lease program on the 2008 Ridgeline is pretty good. It's not the most aggressive program that I have ever seen, but it's not the worst either. The doc fee that the dealer is tacking on is very reasonable as well. Just make sure that the ... Read More

Hi Peter. The lease programs on vehicles do generally improve as the model year progresses...to a point. Vehicles' residual values, which are used to calculate the depreciation portion of your lease payment, gradually fall as the model year progresses. Sandyl, I don't think the 2nd generation of the Ridgeline will not come until 2009, so the 2008 may not change much.
