Awesome Truck!
Vehicle
2006 Honda Ridgeline RTL 4dr Crew Cab AWD SB w/Moonroof, XM (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
Review
Best mid-size truck on the market. Great in heavy snow, and traction/control/handling is better than big 4x4s due to independent suspension & awd drive. I drive almost daily in lake Tahoe area with great ease. Drives like a car, but it's a truck. No maintenance issues either. Over 42k miles, and only in the shop for regular maintenance. 3.5l 24- valve, v-tech power is exceptional; it down- shifts on slight hills due to high overdrive gearing; big 4x4 diesels (Ford, Chevy, Dodge) eat my dust/exhaust; so no power worries for future owners. The big-3 auto makers better get their act together soon; I can see the Ridgeline evolving into a truck w/more capability than any 4x4 on the market
Favorite Features
The feel! The Cruise Control: it up and down-shifts accordingly to maintain selected speed; I hardly use breaking while going down Spooner Summitt. The Power! All of this truck I enjoy!
Suggested Improvements
Evolve this truck to have the current AWD Drive and independent suspension capability, but be able to hall big payloads like the BIG 4X4s; Sorry BIG-3; get your act together, or the truck market will continue to diminish for you!

I'll never buy a Honda again
Vehicle
2006 Honda Ridgeline RTL 4dr Crew Cab AWD SB w/Moonroof, XM (3.5L 6cyl 5A)

So were do I start? I could start with the creaky and rattling interior. Or I could talk about what a joke the gas mileage is compared to what they claim it will be. But most of all this car is just a piece of garbage. Can't wait until the lease is over and I can go and get a decent truck or SUV. Honda may do a good job with cars, but trucks and SUVs are not their thing . For what the Ridgeline cost me ($32K) I could have purchased a number of other better trucks or SUV's. Do yourself a favor and don't make my mistake.....buy something else.

Great truck, could use more power
Vehicle
2006 Honda Ridgeline RTL 4dr Crew Cab AWD SB w/Moonroof, XM, Nav (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
Review
Used as a commuter and family trips. Occasional off road use at the beach or back roads. Great in the sand. Ride is excellent. Power is lacking - slightest hills on the highway cause downshift. No maintenance issues after 36,000 miles. Very comfortable for 4 adults. A little tight for 5 or with a baby seat installed and 4 adults. In bed trunk is awesome, dual action tailgate is very convenient.
Favorite Features
Comfort. Navigation, although mine came with 2 year old data. Storage is more than you would need - both inside and the trunk.
Suggested Improvements
Climate controls (sometimes hard to see while driving), increased power, rear seats (They only fold up and do not fold down flat), and while we are wishing - remote start for those very hot and cold days.

I've owned them all, and if you are the average consumer with the need for light duty towing and room for five men, this is the truck for you. Not too big, not too small.
Favorite Features
Power, seat comfort, offroad capable.

I normally trade trucks every year. Since purchasing this truck I don't want to trade. I love it. 20 mpg overall for a 4x4 is great.

Smooth ride feels like a sport luxury sedan ride

Ground clearance

2006 Honda Ridgeline RT 4dr Crew Cab AWD SB (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
Review
Love the truck for highway and town driving - BUT. Gravel roads which are poorly maintained are a problem. Roads which can be driven uneventfully by Toyota and Big 3 trucks cause the Honda to scrape repeatedly and in my case a rear strut broke. Great highway vehicle but don't go too far from maintained roads.
Favorite Features
Ride is great and handling is like a european car. The seating is upright and better for my back than any car I have been in.
Suggested Improvements
Increase the ground clearance and bring out a diesel option.

Best truck on the market
Vehicle
2006 Honda Ridgeline RTL 4dr Crew Cab AWD SB (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
Review
By far the best truck I've ever owned. Fun to drive and handles like a car, but is built and hauls like a truck. Excellent in snow (live in Minnesota).
Favorite Features
Very smooth ride, interior room, creature comforts, in-bed trunk.
Suggested Improvements
Mileage is slightly disappointing for a V6.

The navigation system is cool. The trim is polarizing, just like the body. Either you like it or not. But having never been a Honda owner before, I cannot believe that for a first try, Honda could have almost nailed it. At every turn, I'm impressed. Driving impressions are superior, thoughtful storage and utility abound. The technology is Acura quality, and the safety is second to none. No, it won't haul a small country, but most people don't. When used for what most people use it for, it has enough command of the road or the trails to feel convicted about the build, the utility, and the quality to get you there and back, whether it's work, camping, or snowboarding...it can do it very well
Favorite Features
Best features are the control system electronics that give you that amazing handling when making sharp maneuvers combined with unibody and rear independent suspension for a drive that will surprise you. Cost to own. Ride comfort. Interior electronic appointments. Gas mileage. Oh yeah, the trunk!
Suggested Improvements
Low gear transfer case and higher ground clearance. Granted, Honda did not intend for this truck to go there, but as the idea evolves, a more rugged version of the Ridgeline could be well received. Even then just a more powerful engine would give the truck an even bigger edge. As is, its great!

Great Vehicle

2006 Honda Ridgeline RTS 4dr Crew Cab AWD SB (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
Review
This truck is more of a gentleman's truck where the ride and the handling are far superior to the Chevy truck and the Yukon that I had previously. The interior fit and finish are excellent and the brakes are better than most cars. I have pulled trailers and it does this with ease. If you want a heavy duty work truck, this vehicle may not be for you, but if want a great safe everyday driver this is the truck. By the way, my son is 6' 3" and he can ride in comfort in the back seat. I would buy the Ridgeline again.
Favorite Features
Exterior style, air bags, ride and handling, brakes, interior design, quality of fit and finish
Suggested Improvements
Factory options instead of dealer options

Best everyday truck ever
Vehicle
2006 Honda Ridgeline RTS 4dr Crew Cab AWD SB (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
Review
This truck does exactly what I need - it carries in the bed stuff I would never want inside a car or SUV but doesn't suffer all the negatives a regular truck would (bad gas mileage, bad ride, etc.) It has plenty of power for everyday driving, as long as you're not trying to race. As for the complaints about gas mileage, if you drive the way you should to conserve gas, you'll get what I get, which is 19-20 mpg every tank, and that is using the AC at all times, driving a mix of highway and surface roads. No one complains about the V6 4x4 Crew Cab Nissan Frontier getting 17 mpg, so why the complaints here?
Favorite Features
In-bed trunk is genius. Plenty of in-cabin storage, too. And I happen to really like the way the truck looks, too. I'd rather drive this than something that looks like every other truck that's existed for the past 60 years.
Suggested Improvements
Auxiliary-input plug on all models for mp3 players, better looking grille and wheels, slightly less spartan looking interior, built-in trailer hitch, metal bumpers (this and the hitch are the regular truck things I sorely miss).
