Driver's dream come true
Vehicle
1993 Honda Prelude 2 Dr Si 4WS Coupe
Review
I own a 93 Honda Prelude VTEC, and I absolutely love it! I bought it with 103k miles on it back in 99 and cant stop redlining it every chance I get since then. The car has 160k and is 14 years old now so few things eventfully give up do to my rough driving habits: clutch, O2 sensor, exhaust flex pipe, hmm I cant think of anything more the button for a hand brake is sticking once a week. Seats are so comfortable that it is hard to stay awake for long drives, but one push on the gas pedal and a sound of the VTEC engaging while you accelerate to 120mph on fairly sharp corner will send your hart rate sky rocking and will put a big smile on your face.

When I smoke my buddies Mustang SVT on the road course, I love that suspension and PERFECT gear ration in my trany
Suggested Improvements
This car is discontinued. Prelude lost buyers because of a horrible body change that they did for 97 and up, only one choice of an engine with lower performance then 93-96, manual transmission as an expensive option. Put the curves back, stick a V6 in it, and I will be first one in line to buy it

I've had this car two years now, and have not had any problems. When I bought it in '03, everyone thought I had gotten a new car (not realizing the prelude was discontinued two years before). It's fun to drive, looks great, and is an all around perfect car.
Favorite Features
the dash is fun and unique, comfortable seats (in the front anyways), drives like a dream
Suggested Improvements
the glove box fits a couple of pieces of paper, and the back seats are pretty useless.

Bought my prelude as a used car. The car was 7 years old with 100000 miles. I owned it for 50000 miles had to fix 2 things, the oil pan and the clutch. This car is super fast and handles prefectly. Took it to the tracks pulled a 14.9 1/4mile with no performance parts. The car hangs like a dream, I have drifted going 70 miles an hour was able to keep control no problem. If you find a good deal BUY THIS CAR.

The 1993 Si VTEC model is the quickest prelude ever produced. It handles like a dream and the VTEC exhaust note is oh- so sweet. The factory Recar seats hold you firmly in place while the OEM 7 speaker stereo plays. This car is for the most part, automotive perfection. To top it all off, its 12 years old and has 106k miles on it. If you're considering this car, just keep in mind that they are very expensive to own and maintain. However this more than pays off in having the pleasure of driving the fastest Honda branded 4cyl coupe ever sold in the US.
Favorite Features
Sunroof, digital gages, VTEC powerplant, OEM foglights, security system, OEM subwoofer, and CD player. Way ahead of its time for 1993, has ABS and Dual airbags too.
Suggested Improvements
Car has been discontinued. This was caused by controversial styling, high price, useless back seats, and high insurance rates. C'mon Honda, bring it back, put it on the TSX (JDM Accord) chassis, and give us a 220 hp K24 engine in it with a 6spd. Keep it around $25k and I'd get one!

When i purchased my Prelude it got me in a lot of trouble. Its FAST and sporty but, chicks will look twice when they see you in a Prelude. Getting premium unleaded gas is a drag but definately worth the performance.
Favorite Features
5 speed manual, handles amazing around corners, burnouts through second gear, bucket seats hold tightly, best part is smoking civics.
Suggested Improvements
A cupholder, a sixth gear(prelude revs pretty high at highway speeds), more room in the back seats, no glovebox(more of a document holder), engine can get quite warm when raced around.

Wow... thats all that really needs to be said. For one, the car is WAY ahead of its time in exterior styling...and I for one, like the interior as well. Now lets talk performance. I paired the already fire-breathing V-TEC engine with Greddy Power Extreme exhaust and AEM cold air intake. Let me tell you..the car dyno's 213 HP and I only spent like $700. The first-gear torque is downright scary. And the sound is amazing...especially when the V-TEC kicks in at 4900. When the V-TEC kicks in you can hear and feel it...which makes it really fun to drive. The car has nearly 150k miles on it and I have had no problems whatsoever!
Favorite Features
V-TEC engageing, fast, fun, sticks to the road, and sounds GREAT.

Get rid of that ugly 97-01 body style and make them look sexy again! (or just start making them again....)

Great car, I'm at 180000 on the original everything and it still runs strong with a $4000 kelly blue book value, I only got it for 6K! great on the gas, (but 93 gas only, and if you dont play with it in the vtec too much.) Great on the highway and a fun car to drive. Never really raced it, only to prove a point. (See Fav, Features) Super car for a responsible young adult.
