posted about it before, but here goes again: My love affair with the Prelude began when I was 16. The '92s were out and 4 days after I got my White/Grey with white mesh wheels 1992 Chevrolet Beretta GT, my best friend who lived across the street from me got a 1992 White Prelude Si. It wasn't the flashiest car in the school parking lot, but definitely one of the coolest ... Read More
started when I was 16. My first car was a 1992 Chevrolet Beretta GT. My best friend who live across the street bought a 1992 Prelude Si. That was such a fun car to srive and really turned heads and got compliments everywhere we went. It was probably not the best car for a 16 year old, but I digress. When I went off to college, my freshman year I saw ... Read More

155K miles on a '92 is pretty good. I know of 2 people who owned these when new and they were so much fun to drive. Which model are you looking at? The 4th Gen '92 Preludes had 3 models: S, Si, 4WS. The S is the base model with 15" wheel covers and dealer installed AC with Honda's (non-VTEC) H22 Motor that produced somewhere around 135 Hp. Next up is ... Read More
The 1992 - 1996 Prelude is known as the 4th generation. As you know, there were 4 basic iterations of the car: S, Si, 4WS, & VTEC. The 4th generation Prelude handles very well and when mated to a 5-speed manual transmission can be very entertaining to drive. Preludes are safe (they perform well in crash tests) and very reliable (after all, they're Hondas). Obviously the most desirable model would be ... Read More
Sphinx99: I've seen leather in various other random Preludes. I think it is a nice touch, but there are better things to spend your money on (there always is). Maybe you can try to pick up some factory leather seats from a wrecked Canadian Prelude SE. Just a thought. Michigan is close enough to Canada isn't it? I think the stock seats in our cars are very comfortable and grip well, ... Read More
"What is meant by a 4th or 5th generation Honda? My son has found a 90' Prelude LSi, 5 spd. that he wants to buy. It's his first car. Does anyone know anything in particular with this year?" Bear with me here. 1990 was a very interesting year... actually, maybe the most particularly interesting thing about 1990 is, stay with me here, Bush was president then too! I mean, it was ... Hello Prelude lovers - any diagnostic ideas for me on my 1992 Prelude si would be appreciated. The Car has 80,000 miles and the timing belt was replaced at 60,000 miles after the car was 7 years old. Yesterday while idling at a stop light I heard a strange sound from the engine bay. There was a loud THUNK that sounded like it came from near my left foot near the ... Read More
I'm curious as to what are the weight difference between the Base Prelude (current gen) compared to the previous Gen (i think 1992-1996) Prelude Si. I'm curious because I like the old cars styling and I wanted to know the difference between the 2 generations. Any answers are great.
