you still might want to get your air bags checked out by the dealer. I remember something about the "charge" going bad after 10 years. my Prelude is in the body shop getting fixed. Back in December I backed into an F150 pickup truck. I figured vacation is a good time to have it fixed. So it looks like another Honda product will be joining our family. Using a $3500 cash ... The Prelude is a wonderful car. For a 20 year old and even for those fogeys like those of us in our late 20's. What is your budget? Are you looking for a 5th Generation Prelude ('97-'01) or a 4th Generation ('92-'96)? Get yourself a Prelude w/ a manual transmission. Even if you can't drive stick yet, you'll learn and you love it! Here are just a few of the (many) ... Read More

"What is meant by a 4th or 5th generation Honda? My son has found a 90' Prelude LSi, 5 spd. that he wants to buy. It's his first car. Does anyone know anything in particular with this year?" Bear with me here. 1990 was a very interesting year... actually, maybe the most particularly interesting thing about 1990 is, stay with me here, Bush was president then too! I mean, it was ... I wonder if Honda of Troy still has that silver 2001 Type SH on the lot. Yes, the Prelude sits low, has that long hood, and has wonderfully precise steering. Excellent machine... reason for the Integra is that Jeffrey Acura in Roseville sold it to me for about $17,000. Excellent deal. The Integra's hatch will folded-down seats carry a ton of stuff. The RSX is probably similar, but I don't remember ... Read More

Thanks asethi, you eased my mind about the revving sound. Now that I think about it, my 90 Prelude made a similar but louder sound but not all the time. 1990 was the first year for abs on Honda's. As for the gray streaks, after I washed it this past time, I took some car wax and with a little rubbing it came right off. I'm thinking they were maybe some ... Read More

  • '91 CRX/Si....Why did Honda kill success?

    Written by: 1949 on May 21, 2001 5:13:36 PM

Honda took alot of heat from automotive writers when they dropped the CRX. If you recall, back in 1989/1990 that car always got rave reviews from writers/reviewers/owners. The Civic grew a bit after that, but I think Honda could've somehow kept a version of that car alive. Back in '89 while shopping for a new car, it came down to a 90 Mustang 5.0, Mazda MX6 or the CRX Si. All ... Read More
