Honda Pilot Maintenance and Repair
e-85
My son accidently put 14 gallons of e-85 in my 2005 Honda Pilot. I called the dealership and was told that it shouldn't cause any major issues that I should drive it out as soon as possible and replace it with high grade gas when I get to a half a tank. This morning on the way to work my VTM-4 light and the engine light both came on. I don't hear any difference in the motor ... Read More...

Re: 2005 Honda Pilot Shudders [rusty4532]
I had the same problem in my '04 Pilot after a crappy tire rotation and balance job at my Honda dealer. On the way home at 50-55mph it shuddered so hard the steering wheel literally shook my arms. I took it right back. They told me their tire balancer was not calibrated properly and they attempted to fix it. Once back on the highway it was improved, but not gone. I drove ... Read More...
2005 Honda Pilot Shudders
My 2005 Pilot Shudders in the speed range of about 35-40 mph, with light pressure on the gas peddle. I seem to feel a Shiver at higher speeds but this may be from tire balance. The dealer said the Shudder was due to the EGR valve being carboned up. I replaced with a honda part however it's still happening. Anyone experienced this problem and what did you do to fix it? Re: 2005 honda pilot ex-l brake malfunction [atpcpll]
>"I am furious this vehicle that I spent 33k on and I bought it because it was supposed to be safe was putting my life in danger...again" Don't know when the time frame expires, but seems to me the law should be invoked here. This is not a simple aggravation like a rattle or bump or sloshing sound. If it should happen when someone is tail gateing or just in a bad mood, there ... Read More...
Re: 2005 honda pilot ex-l brake malfunction [atpcpll]
Our daughter just had the very same thing happen to her 2005 Pilot in El Paso. Her dealer is researching the matter with Honda USA and trying to diagnose the problem. Has your Pilot been satisfactorily repaired? If so, what was the fix? We would very much appreciate any help you can provide! Read More...
Re: Bring on the 09 Pilot! [zoeyjrt]
Perhaps there is some vested population. But there are others, like myself, who do not have a Pilot and are in the market (I am coming out of a BMW X3) and deciding between a 2008 or 2009. One interesting data point is that I was at the NY Auto Show last Friday and there was only 1 other person looking at the 2009 Pilot prototype (he has a 2005 currently). Meanwhile, I saw ... Re: qbrozen Clunking [mepspop]
HELLO -------- I HAVE A BRAND NEW 2008 PILOT -- ONLY 550 MILES -- I HEAR LOUD KNOCKING NOISES AT THE VERY BACK EVERYTIME I BREAK -- ORIGINALLY WITHIN THE 1st 100 MILES, I ONLY HEARD ONE KNOCKING SOUND. WHEN BREAKING -- NOW THERE IS SEVERAL KNOCKS EACH TIME I BREAK, AND I HEAR THE GASOLINE SWISHING IN THE TANK -- I AM COMMITTED TO A 5 YEAR PLAN OF PAYMENTS FOR THIS PILOT -- ... Read More...
Re: NY auto show - pilot "prototype" impressions [carsly]
While no one actually asked, here are my thoughts. Im in the market for a new Pilot, and will likely get the 2009 version. We have a 2005 Odyssey and I have always had great luck with Honda. The exterior appearance of the car really doesnt bother me, one way or the other. I think good looking and SUV dont go together to begin with. When I first drew cars in grade ... Read More...
