At 92k and hearing a slipping, wind type sound. Scarry!

I'm at 92k on my Honda Pilot 2005 and need repairs.

What should I be changing when I next go into service at this mile level? I'm on my second set of brakes (which have always squeeked and weren't particularly solid since I bought the SUV) and I'll have then checked, but my tranny seems to be switching harder, my shocks are softer and my GPS is shot. Should I change the timing belt and open the tranny? I can't do these ... Read More...

How to measure oil on 2005 Honda Pilot dipstick?

OK, don't hold it against me, but I tried to checl my oil today and when I pulled the stick out, whiped it and pulled it out again, I couldn't distinguish where the line was as the cross hatched dipstick makes it hard to tell. Can anyone give me any guidance? Read More...

I went into a local Honda dealer in New rochelle, New York last week and asked them what type of repair or maintenance is available for my 2005 Honda Pilot GPS system as it get's stuck, is slow and often just doesn't repond. Got the word from the dealer this morning as to what was causing the shuddering in our vehicle. After ruling out the EGR valve (4 technicians swore that was the problem) the California tech center had them look at the transmission. Could have been either the tranny or a solenoid valve that works with an internal clutch unit. After checking the solenoid valve carefully ... Read More...

I no longer own my hazardous o5 Honda Pilot. I am now a GMC Acadia owner. I am so glad to have the stress off my hands. Like you I have never heard back from the American Honda Customer Relations about my case. I wish you the best of luck with this issue. The exact same thing happens to us with out 2005 Honda Pilot, light pressure on the gas peddle and a noticeable shudder in the 35-45 mph range. Took the vehicle in for its regular maintenance this morning and got the same response from the tech, "clean the fuel injectors and may be the EGR valve." Like you, I called American Honda Customer Relations 1-800-999-1009. I filed a complaint and they even gave me a Case #. I'm surprised they're acting surprised since I spoke with them just last month, June 2008. I called them up again right after the problem started re-occurring. I got my vehicle back from the dealership today. They said the computer did not collect any information that a problem occurred. They drove it 717 miles and nothing happened to them. Thus, they made no repairs or changes to my pilot. I will not drive the vehicle or allow any of my family or friends to drive it. The issue is a life threatening problem. We are going to ...
