Is anyone else experiencing problems with braking and their Pilots? My daughter's 2005 Pilot has started sudden and violent braking on its own, a very unnerving and dangerous experience. Have a 2003 Pilot in my driveway now with 94K on it. Sale contingent upon hubby and mechanic's approval. CarFax says trans replaced by Honda dealership at 84K. Was covered under Honda certified warranty. That owner traded in 6 months later. Mechanic drove all weekend and didn't notice any transmission problems. Not a big deal, I might be out of the market for a new Pilot all together. To make the long story short, my 2005 97K miles Pilot EX-L developed transmission problem (loud whines audible at all gears), I was finally able to have one of the local Honda dealers agreed to replace the transmission courtesy of Honda Care warranty. $32,295 is very high for what I have seen around here. Of course prices depend on region and local competition. While I was waiting for my 2005 Pilot to have minor service at the dealer in So. It isn't looking good folks... I have a 2005 Pilot. I started having trouble with violent shaking and shimming while trying to accelerate going uphill around 75K. I am now at 120K and I am now unable to down shift( yes I know how..) and my D light is flashing on the transmission indicator... It looks like a new transmission. I wrote a complaint to the NHTSA. Elizabeth, We have a 2006 EX-L Odyssey with NAV and RES. From our experience, an aftermarket GPS is the way to go. They are much more accurate, can be updated online for free, etc. Our Odyssey's NAV has an older source disk (2005) and many neighborhoods are not listed. The new source disk would cost more than a nice Garmin. We are buying a Pilot and really like the Bluetooth ... Read More...

Amazing! While I did deal with several Honda dealers in Michigan, for the most part, I was happy with the way I was treated, especially by Brighton Honda. I was not able to find a Silver AWD Touring without RES so I was forced into this one extra option, RES. keyman3, I replaced the pads on my 04 Pilot. By far the easiest I have done. If you have swapped pads an any disk brakes before then it is straight forward. First you should probably double check how much pad is left. I got 75K miles out of mine and they still had pad left. Also you should probably replace both Front & Rear at the same time. I am interested in upgrading my factory Honda Pilot 2005 cd player. I just bought a Clarion 385 DVD entertainment indash system. The black trim piece around the cd/tape stock radio is just clipped on and can be removed. Then just a 4 simple screw removal around the radio behind the black trim.
