It's a knocking noise. The Honda Engineer thinks it is inside the engine. The mechanics say it's in the area of the harmonic balancer. They are not sure where it is. It is not steady, it comes and goes. I've taken it in before for this noise and they could not hear it. Now it's getting louder and my milage is about 32,000 miles. Getting near the end of warranty. Have been hearing a strange noise in the engine in area where the drive belt and pullies are. Mechanic thought it was the pulley belt so he put a new one on. Noise is still there. I thought it was in the tensioner pulley or water pump. Now at this point the dealer called Honda Enginneer, because they can't find the source of the noise. The Engineer said take the motor ... lease bill, We went to Coast Honda in Wall Township, NJ. My wife and I just got back from Honda less than an hour ago with her new black with gray leather interior 2008 Pilot EX-L. She is so excited. Hi, I'm at the point where my lease is up on my 2005 Honda Pilot. It's in great shape and rides really well. I was thinking about turning in my lease and getting another (new) 2005 Pilot with a moonroof, dvd, roof rack, however I think I can probably get the stuff installed aftermarket. I really like the new pilot. So many comments I read are about how it is not sleek enough, or it is too boxy. Well, if you want the room for 8 passengers, leg room, cargo room, etc. that is what you will have to put up with. If I wanted a Pathfinder or Jeep I would have bought one too, but I really want a Honda, so what if they look similar. At least it doesn't look like the Suburban. ... Read More...
