Review
Bought an end of year 2005 Pilot with leather/moon roof. Love the car. Rides so very smooth. Great large tinted windows perfect. gas mileage good, not great, but as expected. If I wanted economy I would have bought a Civic. I needed roomy, clean lines, great back seat, lots of storage areas. wonderful family vehicle, super comfort on long rides. Thank you Honda !!!
Favorite Features
Large windows, comfortable leather seats, smooth driving. The car is more like a large wagon than an SUV yet raised up just enough to see over other cars. Love that feature. Open feeling in front seat. Not crammed.
Suggested Improvements
More colors to choose from. A combo color scheme would have been nice. Time for Honda to get out of basic colors into modern choices.

Review
Chose the Pilot after considering many competitors in it's class. We have not been disapponted in our choice. We love the style and features and the interior funtionality of the seats. Using the third row is easy, and stowing it is painless. My son loves the entertainment systems, and my wife an I love that we get to hear "adult" music again. We got 20 mpg on mixed driving from the very first tank. Not bad for a vehicle of this size and power. Dealer provided a price at invoice (below Edmunds TMV at the time) with no bargaining. They also gave top value (again based on Edmunds values) for the 2001 CRV that I traded.
Favorite Features
Entertainment system. Also, the overall completeness of what is included in the EX package. You don't need to sift through pages of options, Honda includes so much!
Suggested Improvements
Controlling the entertainment system from the front seat is a little tricky given the infra-red readers. It would be nice to have more control over this from the head unit in the dash.
Best in class....

I absolutely love my Pilot. My prior vehicle was an Accord, so I had a good idea what I was getting into with this Honda. After doing my research, and a couple test drives, I found the Pilot, not to be to cliche', while not the leader in most catagories, it did very well in all of them. I suprisingly found that it doesn't feel as big as it seems. To look at it, you'll think you'll be driving a land yacht, but after a few miles, it feels more like standard car, just higher.
Favorite Features
Comfort/room
Suggested Improvements
I'm sure Honda is already working on it, but improved mileage will be a plus (even though, for the mid-sized suv's, it gets the best mpg).
Should be better

Was happy with the pilot until I realized that the gas mileage is HORRIBLE!!! I average 13 MPG, with a lot of Highway driving. Steering wheel also vibrates on highway and there is a lot of road noise. I keep on thinking someone has a window open. At 1,500 miles smoke came out of air vents and it smelled like a electric fire. Also, be careful on the highway. The Pilot is very top heavy and will tip if you suddenly have to change lanes.
Favorite Features
Lots of pep. Lots of room for a small SUV. Rides smooth until about 65 mph.
Suggested Improvements
Advertise the correct gas mileage. No way it gets 17/22 MPG. Do something about road noise. Put amber emergency lights on rear tail lights, not the red ones that are there. Move windshied wiper control.

Ok, my second time to try this. Great SUV all around. Wanted leather seats and they gave me a great deal well below invoice. Instead of paying $1500 for DVD for the kids, bought a great, portable one instead. Very comfortable, good acceleration and view all around the vehicle. Good storage and like all the latches/power ports/cup holders. Gas mileage not good, but comparable to other SUVs in it's class. Don't like where the gear shift is up near steering wheel, temporary spare tire (buying my own full size 235/16" rim and spare), or that back glass doesn't open seperately. Outside styling a tad bland and tinted front side windows at my own expense. Still, great SUV for the money and worth it
Favorite Features
Ride and acceleration (smooth), comfort and space, steering wheel radio controls, 6 CD changer/stereo, and moonroof.
Suggested Improvements
Temporary spare tire (not practical for an SUV), rear glass doesn't open seperately, shift lever near steering wheel, cruise off/on button not on steering wheel with other cruise controls, gas mileage, or having to use ignition key to release 3rd row seat- belts from latches.
So far so good

Review
Good mid size SUV. Honda reliability with nice interior features. The ride is adequate and better than most SUVs I have driven. This is expected from an elevated ride with this much weight. Excellent horse power and turning radius. The gas mileage is a bit lower than I would like but I compromised as I wanted an SUV.
Favorite Features
I like the roominess of the vehicle and the quite closing of the doors. Engine is quite as well. Leather texture interior is good. Heated seats and mirrors are nice touch. Horsepower is impressive for mid-size vehicle.
Suggested Improvements
It would be nice to include power adjusted passenger seat. The cargo cover is flimsy but optional. Auto day lights would nice
Could be better!

Review
I purchased the Honda because of the fine reviews that I read on the internet; but I was disappointed after I was able to put a few hundred miles on it. First of all, the gas mileage is HORRIBLE and not better than my Expedition. I only average 13 m.p.g. with mostly highway driving. Honda acknowledged the problem and hopefully they will address it. Next, the road noise is VERY high while on the highway. I keep thinking that a window is open somewhere. Also, after 70 m.p.h., the front wheel starts to shake. I took it to the dealer and they could not find the problem yet. The Pilot also seems unstable at highway speeds and drivers should be careful not to make sudden lane changes.
Favorite Features
This SUV has more room inside than you would expect. Some features are very nice and not a bad deal for under $30,000. Acceleration, once it gets going is pretty good.
Suggested Improvements
Honda should find out why the Pilot has such poor gas mileage or change the EPA to a more realistic number. There is no way that this SUV gets 17 mpg city and 22 highway. Also make the car more stable on the highway. Move the windshield wiper control. My wife keeps on putting the windshief wipers

Review
At this time, the paint seems to be well crafted. Workmanship seems to be of very good quality. Price is competitive with the Highlander and other SUVs in the near price range. The Pilot is smooth handling for a SUV. Storage for the front passenger and driver is properly arranged.
Favorite Features
Leather seats are a favorite with the family as well as the DVD player. Pilot seems to be roomer than other vehicles in its class.
Suggested Improvements
The spare is a temporary tire whereas the Highlander has a full size tire. Air filters replacement should be something that the owner could preform

Review
Honda quality throughout. Tons of room. All three rows have plenty of space. I was amazed at the ride - I expected it to ride like a truck, but the smoothness and quiet are better than my old Lincoln Towncar. Acceleration is excellent. Extremely solid, safe feel. All the bells and whistles of a luxury car. Outlets are everywhere, pockets and nooks and crannies for storage all around you. Center console is so huge, I can fit TWO gallons of milk. A remarkable vehicle. Gas mileage is poor: I get 15mpg city.
Favorite Features
Climate control, comfortable third row, acceleration and ride characteristics. Tight turning radius makes parking as easy as if it was a compact.
Suggested Improvements
Weatherstripping at top of rear window is falling off - I've seen it on other Pilots, too. Gas mileage is poor. A sunroof would be a nice option.
