2003 Honda Pilot EX AWD 4dr SUV w/ Leather (3.5L 6cyl 5A)
I was surprised that the exterior looks
more muscular and athletic than the
most photos show. It has a more
masculine look than the Highlander. The
Pilot EX interior wasn't as attractive
as the Highlander Limited - and the
dealer-installed faux wood is about
$600 extra. Still, the interior was
comfortable - although perhaps more
designed for a larger-framed person
than is the Toyota. It was very roomy
inside for a mid-sized - with the 2nd &
3rd row flat, the storage space was
I value the width for preventing
rollover as well as the expected crash
test worthiness. Acceleration was
strong, but the engine was very quiet
during all but hard acceleration.
Considering the fuel efficiency, the
power generated is wonderful.
Interior should be more attractive -
dash suffers by comparison to the
Highlander Ltd. A trim person will
find the seats and armrests are
designed to cradle a heavier person. I
am ordering, but supply and demand
prevent the ability to negotiate a more
favorable selling price.
