After sold our 2000 Odyssey with 130K mi, wife decided to get another Odyssey right before our summer vacation trip. After our 4000+ mi trip, it seems to be a right decision. The van is very comfortable to ride in and drives like a Honda. Although I wished it could have 50 more horse power, and have sports tires. The fit and finish are very good and we didn't experience any usually wind noise. The gas mileage is unbelievable on highway. With 3 adults and lots of stuff in the back, we get about 26.5 mpg on average and at one point, close to 29 mpg. The transmission shifts smoothly, although the van is kind of sluggish when you try to pass someone on highway due to lack of torque.
1) Needs more HP, maybe 50 HP more. Just steal MDX engines! 2) The van is too big for a small family. I wish Honda can build a smaller version of Odyssey. Well one can buy a CRV, but CRV doesn't have power sliding doors and has only 4 cyl engine and doesn't look as good as Odyssey. 3) Navigation needs a touch screen interface.
4) User manual is not user friendly to DIY. It doesn't tell you when to change oil, ATF and etc. It just tell you to follow MM. Also there are too many user manuals: 3 for touring version. They should be combined into one. 5) The coolbox seems doing nothing to the drink you put there.
