    Undersized brake rotors and undersized transmissions do count in quality control, design, and reliability.     Are you saying till 2007 the filter position has not been changed. You indicated that they fail between 80k to 125k miles. Has that improved with the 2007 and above models?     the ridgeline and I think pilot have a different tranny. And the ody switched over to that model trans in IIRC 2007? Still seemed to have TC issues, but the fatal issues of the earlier ones don't seem to be there anymore.

    Are you aware that the warranty on your 2007 was extended to sixty thousand miles because of this issue with the torque converter? If you bought the warranty before 60,000 it was still under warranty. Also since you had the torque converter replaced once you will be covered for this issue for the life of the car.

    I also had my torque converter replaced two years ago on my 2007 Honda Odyssey. It had around 45,000 miles on it at that time. I haven't had a problem since. They have also given me several software upgrades and fixed a recall on the brakes, something to do with the master cylinder.     My 2007 had that problem , and in September 2009 Honda replaced the torque converter. It's been 2 years and about 45,000 miles later without any evidence of the problem recurring. Maybe I just got lucky. (lucky it was still under warranty)

    I had an ODY with 70000 miles when the tranny went out. Honda has known about this issue for some time and even lost a class action lawsuit over it. Honda will not assist you. Get rid of the van and buy something else other than a Honda.

    Great point. I will have a rate from my bank and see if they can beat it. Do you know if the dealer had any pre-payment penalty or other 'requirements' with their loan? Sometimes they have a mandatory, i forget what its called, an extra fee you pay up front for 'protection' if you can't work and repay the loan.

    If you look at customers' reports [reliability dots] on Cconsumer Reports 2003-2006 and 2008-2010 had best reliability in transmissions for the Odyssey. 2007 is bad news. You need to read more on Edmunds.com & OdyClub on what members have to say. I trust Consumer Reports more than any other magazine because they purchase vehicles where the dealers do not know that they are Consumer Report people.

    While on vacation in Yosemite in a foot of snow, a strip of paint the size of a football peeled away from the roof just behind the windshield, leaving bare metal. I took the car in to Spreen Honda in California and they fixed it at no cost to me. They repainted the entire front half of the car and roof. Colors matched, could not be happier with the results.

    I'm sorry my friend, Hayden's website shows they do not have a cooler for the 2007 Odyssey. They do have them for the 2007 Accord, Pilot, and Ridgeline. And they do have them for 1999-2004 Odyssey.

    Correction! The 2007+ Honda Odysseys got the newer 5 speed transmission that went into the Acura MDX 2003+, Acura TL 2004+, Pilot 2006+. The old 4 speed and old 5 speed had the engineering flaws. The newer 5 speed is showing excellent reliability.     You are absolutely correct. The 4 speed and old 5 speed transmissions had many problems. They were replaced with the new 5 speed in the 2007 TL, 2003 MDX, 2006 Pilot, and 2007 Odyssey.
