I would consider an alternative if I am to take a loan to buy the Van. 1. Honda Vans are highly priced than other minivans in the same class. Why?? They hold their value very well. That means for the same amount of money you would get a newer and low mirage option. 2. I would rather buy an older vehicle that would not tie me in a loan for the ... Read More

BTW, the video in this discussion was extremely helpful to change the transistor/resistor. Trick ... Read More
Thanks Phx70 - the fan works fine and it blows pretty much outside air at that temperature. When I crank up the temperature, it does not heat up, when I lower it all the way to 60 (in auto mode) it does not kick in the AC. Would appreciate a link to any info. -Duke
If your fan is not blowing, you will not feel any A.C. Or little heat. If your fan motor will not work on AUTO, but will turn on when maxing out the fan knob, it is most likely the transistor assembly. The part number is listed in these forums. If that is not the case, there are some fuses and relays located in the engine compartment...good luck!
Hi folks, My front heater and AC are not working. Don't want to spend an arm and a leg if there is something I can do on my own. I see many had this issue on different models. Saccucci only offers Honda Care. So if you purchased Honda Care at your dealership you paid $2000 more for the exact coverage Saccucci offers. The most expensive plan for an Odyssey is under $1400. So if you want to save $2000, you should cancel.

You are correct--Seattle is a challenging market for Odyssey buyers. The term "over his cost" is pretty vague. Does that include any holdback that Honda pays the dealer? I have read several post from people who went to Sport Honda in Silver Spring MD and got a great price. Well it is true. I was able to purchase an 08 Odyssey EX-L with RES for $28689(including freight) + $89 doc fee + tax and tags($30700 on the road). I am not sure how much longer the $2000 dealer incentive will last or if they will increase or decrease it ... Read More
All, I was in Kelly Honda in Lynn, MA this past week in order to get some service work done on my 2000 Odyssey. I overheard their daily sales meeting and they said that no sales person has hit quota or is on track to hit quota for the month of February and for the first quarter of 2008. The housing slump and the notion of a possible recession is definitely ... Read More
Just returned from Paragon Honda in ny-worst dealership I ever dealt with.Gave me an internet price to come in ,then added almost$2000 for documentation fee, preperation fee, origination fee.Told manager i would report this to honda and the BBB and he said he would honor the deal. Then I was told to come back the next day,and after giving a deposit,i was told 2.9% financing no longer available. fortunately I kept a copy ... I was in the dealership yesterday. I showed them the consumer guide article that showed the $2500 incentive Honda was supposedly offering for the Odyssey until 3/03. They showed me their internal document that showed this was for the 2007 model, however, there was a $2000 incentive on the 08 models same timeline. Also, when I brought up the 2.9% financing also listed in the consumer guide document, I was shown ... Read More
I just bought a 2011 Odyssey EX-L with RES for $35020 in MA. That is $1800 under MSRP. I traded in a 2002 Ody EX-L with RES and 140,000 for $4500. The '02 was in fair condition (small dents and scrapes among other things) but was also experiencing the dreaded early 2000's transmission problems (see Odyclub Forum). Kbb and Edmunds pegged the value at $3700-$3800 trade in so I took the ... Read More
I am interested in summary of the rebuild. I have a 2000 Odyssey with 230K and my tranny oil is starting to slip. I've changed the oil twice this year which helps temporarily but it won't last much longer. Interested in whatever you can send me. Can you get parts directly from Honda?
Greetings. I paid 27000 for the 08 EX-L plus TTT. I bought this from Autopark Honda in Cary, NC. I think I was close to the absolute bottom the dealer could have gone, which I guess is perhaps around 26700. I think it was a reasonable deal. Did not buy any extended warranties or paint protection, etc. Why pay 2000 for something that kicks in at least 3 yrs from now ... Read More
I have a quote from Landmark Honda in Alexandria, VA of: car price = CP= Honda Odyssey EXL = $26,038.70 tax + Tg = $1,213.85 freight = $635 processing fee = $385 ____________________ = $28,272.55 That seems like a pretty good deal...would really like to know some advice on making it a better deal. I wanted to get to $27,500 but I would take additions to the $28,272.55 package in lieu ... Read More
Most people get the non-RES/NAV at 600-800 below invoice, after rebate. So, I'd go for the low end of the range. They are running out of time, honda corp will make the dealers move out these vehicles, maybe giving more hidden incentives. So, try to push the limit here. The saleperson's job is to stretch the customer and convince them to pay more than intended, regardless of how big the margin ... Read More
There hasn't been a lot of traffic here from Seattle, so here's a report... On Tuesday night, I leased a 2008 Touring without PAX for $500 over invoice. That doesn't sound particularly good, but there are a couple of additional factors to consider: 1. Prices on leased cars are running about $1000 more than prices on purchased cars--the $1000 marketing support from Honda does not apply to leases. 1 other dealer ... Read More
Hi - We also have a 2000. No problems at all except for the transmission. We are on our 3rd transmission. First one at 97k was replaced under warranty. Second one was replaced at 160k at a cost of $3,500 - not by Honda because they could not find a replacement - - not a good sign I guess; but by their "recommended alternative" who we were very pleased with. The ... Read More
We've committed to purchase a 2008 EX-L w/ RES and NAV, plus pro pack. The price ($32,295) is about $370 higher than my two lowest quotes, but I have my choice of our top two color options (Deep Cherry or Baltic Blue; we're opting for the blue since it'll be straight off the truck on Monday, whereas we'd have to wait a bit longer for the transfer of the Deep Cherry). ... My 2000 Odyssey was totaled this week - t-boned in an intersection - so we are motivated to buy quickly. I have a quote from a dealer in SoCal: "Your prices for the 2007 Honda Odyssey EXL W/DVD is $27,995.00 and with DVD & NAV is $29,995.00 plus tax and license. The 2008 Honda Odyssey EXL W/DVD is $30,495.00 and with DVD & NAV is $32,295.00 plus tax and license." Also, ... Read More
We are in Jax, FL and our closest dealer had one 2011 touring in stock. We test drove it, loved it and then went to deal. Not only did they want full MSRP but they had added a $2000, "protection pkg" (mudflaps, liners, pin stripe) and would only budge $500 off that addition. They would not accept any less than $43,000 for a touring with an MSRP of $41,535. We walked ... Read More
I just did a test drive on the new 2011 Odyssey. I was extremely disappointed. Not only is the new minivan UGLY!!! It also has reduced headroom. I am only 5'6" tall and I noticed how much lower the ceiling was. My family is all tall (6'4", 6'1", and 5'10") and I don't think they will be comfortable in this van. The front seat door opening is much lower than on ... Read More
Who is your Honda dealer? After years of buying domestic cars I was talked into buying a Honda because they last forever. 3 months later my used 2002 Honda Odyssey with only 80k miles is down and out with a transmission problem. Honda USA says "sorry, but since you bought from a non-honda dealer and the vehicle is old we can't help". I understand the push back, but this is clearly ... Read More
