We've had a great experience with this van -- no problems at all. With 104K miles on it we are selling it to my wife's sister and we bought a new Odyssey van. It's all in how you drive and take car of your vehicle. We used this van on long trips mostly and it performed beautifully on the highway. We consistenly got 27 mpg on the road and 21 in town (unleaded exclusively). Changed oil every 3K miles. Kept it clean; followed the service manual; waxed it 1-2 times a year, and never had a lick of trouble. We don't work for Honda and don't own their stock either. We have had 3 Chrysler vans, but think Honda builds a better van.
The center console is terrific -- perfectly positioned and capable of handling any size drinks. Also like the positioning of the cruise control and the many storage compartments. Seat belts are comfortable and easy to use. The magic seat is brilliant. Kudos to the engineer who designed it.
The contoured arm rests on the doors are hard and uncomfortable. (I noticed they padded the ones on our new van.) Agree that the automatic gearshift lever is too big and poorly positioned. Having to put it in "Park" every time to open the sliding doors is a pain.
