Augh! Yes, the absence of a "map light" or interior light that can shine down on the dash/radio/shifter area is killing me! I just bought my 2007 Honda Fit from Carmax, with 55k miles on it. I test drove a Versa a couple years ago--2007--because I thought it might be "similar" to the Fit I couldn't find to test drive. The six speed I tested was quite nice but, like others have said, I was put off by the rear seat fold down configuration. I found several good sources for aftermarket cruise control for the 2007 & 2008 models but, so far, have not yet seen a kit for the 2009. (The 2008 kit won't work with the 2009.) I'm still watching the Internet but hope anyone else who finds a good OEM source will pass it on. Read More...

I'm picking up my silver 2009 Fit sport model with manual transmission and navigation system tomorrow. The financing is all worked out and the car is gassed, cleaned, and ready to go. The Omaha, NE, area has 3 Honda dealers. The 2008 models all sold out and there was a real shortage for a couple months, when the 2009s arrived. When the 09s first showed up, they were selling at MSRP and the dealers couldn't keep them in stock. As I mentioned earlier, the power steering has stopped twice on me. Both times while idling. After evaluation by my honda dealer they replaced the EPS unit. Part Number 39980-SLN-A21. Guys, My wife has a 2007 honda fit sport and a few weeks ago it developed a crack in the windshield in the same place (bottom passenger side) as most of you on this thread. Our dealer is telling us that the windshield is not covered under their warranty and that we should check with Honda USA. I suspect that this problem may be more widespread than we think.
