I'm looking at buying a 2008 EX 4x4 Honda Element with moonroof and roof rack. Only has 12,000 miles on it offered at $20,800- is this a good deal? I'm located in the midwest! Thanks!
I find my 2008 Element's seat to be plenty comfortable. I also have a 2002 Honda Accord EX, and I get lower back pain when I drive the Accord for many miles, while I do not with the Element.
I own a 2006 Element AWD auto with 64K miles and love the car! I drive hard with lots of stop and go and lots of dusty roads. On second set of tires (first replacement set) and replaced front pads once. Other than that, regular oil changes is about all I've needed. I am such a believer we bought a 2008 for my wife to drive. We are a 2 Element ... Read More
the 2008 honda element awdex automatic gets the same gas mileage as a fwdex auto and the auto awd gets better than a fwd stick shift. Well technically, the 08 awdex is 1 mpg less efficient than the fwdex, on both the highway and city side.
Beware Prime Honda in Saco Maine. I tried to purchase a 2008 AWD EX leftover in December, and they used 2 distinctive tools to try and up the purchasing price; 1. After a few phone calls to inquire and begin the interest portion of the deal, they stated a price on the phone that seemed in the correct ballpark for this car. When arriving to have the face to face encounter, ... Read More
I told the dealer I'd give them a plug, so here goes. I had been calling just about every dealer in southeast for about a month, I became somewhat discouraged because I know I should be able to get a deal somewhere. right? Unfortunately, I always had to go through the typical crap, eventhough I always asked for the out-the-door price (which I never really got). For a while, I stopped ... Read More
Yesterday my wife & I purchased a new 2008 Honda Element EX AWD Auto for $20,300 - delivered to my door. I'm in Portland, Or. Being a rainy city, these plastic boxes are a relatively popular car in these parts, so there didn't seem to be any mass discounting on the '09. We didn't purchase any accessories as we'd rather live with the car for a few months and decide what ... Read More
Hello I don't know if everybody gets my experience with 2009 Element models, but here is my story. 1. Emailed 4 Honda dealers about their price for 2009 Element (Alabama), only one replied (Brannon Honda). For LX 4WD the quote was 21.300 OTD. We scheduled a test drive ASAP 2. Entered the dealership. "Sorry, we don't have 2009 Element right now, but here is 2008 EX 4WD you can test drive". ... Read More

Hello everybody, this is my first post...i recently purchased an 08 element EX awd (gray) on Oct. 15, 2008...The sticker price was 23,860 but my cost was only 20,200 plus doc fee of 200 for a total of 20,400 excluding taxes and plates...The dealer said the mark-up was only about 1600 and there was dealer cash of a 1000. There was no trade. I sold toyotas for 2 years and learned ... Read More
You are welcome! About your second post, I don't know where you are (for some reason I thought Washington state?), but it could make a difference in how much inventory they have. In my experience the volume dealers (the ones who sell more cars) are likely to have a larger supply of Elements (its my understanding that they are given "x" number Elements for "x" number of the good selling cars ... Ask your dealer if they install the 3M clear bra. It is just a clear covering that goes over the front end and about six inches up on the hood. Barely noticeable and works very nicely.
Hey Cynthia. Yep, Honda is still providing the same dealer cash on the 2008 Element. The destination fee is legit. It is essentially part of vehicles' prices and every consumer has to pay it. The tire tax is legit as well. The doc fee is a different story though. While most dealers charge consumers some sort of doc fee, it really isn't much more than a way for them to add ... Read More
My husband just purchased a beautiful rootbeer 2008 Honda SC for me a week ago....LOVE the color but I already have a rock chip on the bumper. I have looked and cannot find a full front end bra for an 08. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I may look further. Thanks. Angie
On 7-31-08 purchased 2008 Element SC Alabaster Silver in Irving Tx (McDavid Honda) for $20,750 plus TTL (No crazy hidden fees, No over priced dealer adds, No have to use their financing, No buying their overpriced warranty, and No trade car for them to make up the difference, straight forward deal) I at dealership in the afternoon on the last day of the month (much more willing to deal on the ... I first got a price from the Costco-connected dealer in Indianapolis, where I live. It was a good price, but at crunch time they denied that they had made the verbal offer, and the price went up by about $500. Hi azbriank. Honda still is not providing any lease support on the 2008 Element in June. If you were to lease one through Honda Finance right now for 36 months, you would have to use its buy rate lease money factor of .00250 (for consumers who qualify for its "Super Preferred" credit tier and pay a security deposit at lease signing). Even though it is not offering a special money factor ... Read More
Steve, I'm interested in the 2008 SC Element automatic and have read alot concerning gas milage. Has anyone purchased any after market chips to improve their gas milage? What types of after market handware are drivers using if any?
Seems I've read on the Pilot and other forums that there was a bad winter around the Denver area, and 4wd suv's sold well. If thats the case and stocks are manageable in the area the dealers may not have to part with most of their incentives. I took an extra $2,200 out to pay off a 2005 honda element ex awd. The 2005 I purchased for $392 a month for five years at 1.9% with no money down. Hi darthnascar. In the past when Honda was not offering a special lease money factor on the Element, one could used the dealer cash to reduce the capitalized cost of their lease. However, Honda has since introduced lease support on the 2008 Element. This lease support is not compatible with the dealer cash that Honda is currently providing on this model. So the dealer was telling the truth about the dealer ... Read More
New Honda Element 2008 LX 4WD. On inner fuse box cover a small plastic piece 2"X1" with a flashing blue LED light that does not shut off, theft system etc.? Can't find in owners manual. Don't know what it is or how to turn it off. Otherwise all other components function well. Some guidance please.
We are in the market for a new 2008 Element, and the LX FWD meets most of our needs. Obviously, the EX FWD has some nice extra amenities, but the only that we would miss in descending order are: front armrests, map lights, and overhead storage bin. All of the other extras, although nice, we really don't need. Does anyone know if front armrests from the EX can be retrofitted to ... Read More

I still have my xB. It has 17,600 miles on it. In theory, I have two boxes. The element is a nice highway car, it almost has 700 miles on it in 2 months of ownership. I to took the plunge and got the SC 07, when I saw some possible photos of the newer possible 08 model, not too long ago. Like the suicide door, and over all appearance of the SC model, not to mention for me the root beer color. The newer model, if that is what it may look like, seems a bit too big, probably lousy gas mileage, and heavier as well. ... Read More
I know there is no guarantee that the pics are the actual new look of the Element, but thanks for making my decision easier. I was on the fence on going ahead and getting the '07 SC or wait in case the redesign looked better. When I saw the Crossroad pics, I knew I'd prefer the '07. Thanks for posting the links.
I think that the new 2009 Element is going to be like the Honda CrossRoad. I did some research last night, and I hate to say it, but I thik it is going to be. It goes on sale in Febuary in Europe and it's boxy, sits 7 and is about the size of a CR-V. here's some web places to check it out: http://www.autospies.com/news/Leaked-New-Honda-Crossroad-11078/ http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2006/12/honda-crossover-7seater-suvmpv.html I hope Honda doesn't have ... Has anyone heard any news about the element besides its going to get a redesign and power increase? I would like to know detals. Help would be excellent.
Any news on the redesign?
Has anyone heard anything about the 2008 redesign? Do you think now that the CRV has become more car-like, Honda will make the Element a little more truck-like to further distinguish the two vehicles? I apologize if there is already 2008 Element discussion somewhere else - if so, I haven't come across it yet.
Will there be a follow up model to the first Element in 2008 or later? Or will there be only one? It's hard to gauge its popularity and profitability to Honda. With the Acura RDX and Honda CR-V production moving to Ohio in 2006, will there be capacity to continue to make Elements? What are your thoughts about how successful the Element has been for Honda and whether they will invest ... Read More

Hmm, you're upside down on the Dodge, but you aren't happy with it. Maybe try to sell it privately, you'll get more than the dealer will offer (wholesale, basically). There's the catch with the huge rebates Dodge offers - values drop like a rock falling off a cliff. Without interest, $315 per month adds up to $18,900 over 5 years. But subtract the $3000 you still owe and you have about ... Read More
When the new low-sulfur diesel fuel becomes standard in the US in 2006, will the Element get the option of 2.4 liter diesel engine in the Euro Accord? I suppose by then, the Element would be a 2007 model and Honda might just wait for the next generation Element in 2008 or so instead of bothering with this one.
