I just signed up for Consumer Reports and guess what their articles on small SUV's had in the Feb mag.; 2007 Honda Element. They said the payload is only 650lb. have any of you guys had a problem with this low payload? I was also wondering, they said it had a visibility problem because of chunky pillars. Pricing and low finance rates are strictly market situation driven. A hot seller like the new 2007 CR-V, or the Chevy Corvette will not be on sale nor qualify for rock bottom finance rates. zabeth, check out elementownersclub.com. There are numerous discussions about grille modifications, ranging from the Home Depot solution, to aftermarket grilles, to the billet grille (I called them cattle guards when I lived in Texas) you mentioned. Some cost over $100, and if you can't do the installation the price goes up even more. I can't tell from pictures ... Read More...

Thank you for your responses. I contacted American Honda who stated it was probably a rare occurrence and had no intention of being responsible for the problem. I became a squeaky wheel and so a case was opened on the issue... They also indicated that they don't endorese modification of the car in such a way to protect the exposed condensor, covering themselves ... Read More...

I don't remember where I read it, but the 2007's are all (not just the "street" version) supposed to be coming with the 5 speed automatic, with side curtain airbags, and with the seats that have the shoulder harness attachment point on the seat instead of on the door, so you can open the rear suicide door without detaching your seat belt.
