    Honda still has work to do on the head restraints, though. The Fit scores Poor: http://www.iihs.org/ratings/head_restraints/headrestraints.aspx?honda The Element was Poor until the 2007 model, when it improved notably to a Good score.

    2007 EX Manual, 4wd. I've towed my 5 x 10 aluminum trailer with a TroyBuilt 6.5 hp chipper shredder on it at 60 mph. I tow that 100 miles each way with no problems at all. I have towed my 670 pound motorcycle for short hauls easily and I loaded my Triumph Spitfire (1500lb sports car) on that trailer and hauled it 40 miles at interstate speeds. That was not a ...     I just got a new 2007 EX and the salesman told me that nobody is having any luck with remote starters on this vehicle and that installing one can cause engine damage that Honda will not repair. Any feedback? It's getting cold in Minnesota!

    LOTS of GOOD Deals! I just paid $18,990 for 2007 LX 4WD Auto which included the $595 destination charge but does not include tax, plates & doc fee or trade in. There are numerous discussions about grille modifications, ranging from the Home Depot solution, to aftermarket grilles, to the billet grille (I called them cattle guards when I lived in Texas) you mentioned.     I don't remember where I read it, but the 2007's are all (not just the "street" version) supposed to be coming with the 5 speed automatic, with side curtain airbags, and with the seats that have the shoulder harness attachment point on the seat instead of on the door, so you can open the rear suicide door without detaching your seat belt.     Put yourself in Honda's shoes. Would you spend a whole lot of money making changes to vehicle that is scheduled to get a complete overhaul one year later? That is why late upgrades are very rare.     I looked at the Honda web link again and it says "before the end of calendar year 2006." By that time, the completely redesigned 2007 Element will be out. That probably means they won't bother with side curtain airbags for the current design of the Element.

    When the new low-sulfur diesel fuel becomes standard in the US in 2006, will the Element get the option of 2.4 liter diesel engine in the Euro Accord? I suppose by then, the Element would be a 2007 model and Honda might just wait for the next generation Element in 2008 or so instead of bothering with this one.

    well I'm breaking down and buying a used civic (maybe) I wanted to like the element , and I don't hate it, but its just like every other car I've seen everything seems so average, the 2 biggest draws to me are the tailgate and the fold up seats , and i just cant justify buying it over a crv unless resale ends up being better , which i find doubtful ...
