Honda element surge problem

I have a 2005 honda element with the exact same surge problem you mentioned. Did you ever determine the cause? On cold starts in the morning it will surge as I back out of the drivewayand I need to press hard on the brake to keep from surging across the street! Well thankfully you saw her coming. I don't care if a car has a 10 star rating. Being hit broadside is a scary proposition. You did very well on the price. I purchased a 2008 element ex awd win no options including floor mats which i later purchased for 132, 20,350 for element. 1.9% interest for 48months. One thing I hate to hear is people saying things like "you would likely be repairing a lot more serious stuff" when talking about "American" vehicles. I will probably be buying a 2005 AWD Element EX this weekend. It's sweet. But I'm not buying it because I think Honda is better than all "American" brands. Pricing and low finance rates are strictly market situation driven. A hot seller like the new 2007 CR-V, or the Chevy Corvette will not be on sale nor qualify for rock bottom finance rates. I think you did something bad for lunch today. I have had leaaky heat exchangers in many other cars. A Pontiac Sunbird blew the radiator for no reason at all, and a linc conti blew EVERYTHING for no reason at all. I habd a radiator explode on an '82 Rabbit diesel truck for no reason at all...
