Re: 200 hp Element [varmint]
Varmint said: "The Element is positioned as the bargain alternative to a vehicle like the CR-V." Looks that way, I unearthed a Honda press release and the EX, and not the LX Element, will be upgraded to ABS and side torso (not curtain) air bags. All remain with a 4 speed automatic, but at least sticks are available. No stability control, no side curtain bags, in any ... Read More...

Re: 2005 Element [teamgekko]
Sounds unlikely unless it would be standard for all. Are they planning to sell painted panels as a dealer-installed accessory? I don't think Honda would bother selling different Elements with and without painted panels coming from the factory. Read More...
'05 Element - Not due till December 15
I called American Honda and they told me that the new 2005 Element will be introduced December 15. It looks like it will be just about the last Honda to get updated. Perhaps they have a lot of 2004s left to sell. Read More...
one more side curtain airbag question
OK, I know that the Element does not have side curtains in "04. I know they WILL have them by the end of calendar year 2006. I know that Honda is very secretive about features of upcoming model year cars. Is it POSSIBLE that the "05 Element will have side curtain airbags as an option. I have looked for rumors and have found none, but that may just mean that Honda is really ... Read More...
Honda Element Prices Paid and Buying Experience
Re: price & finance for 2004 honda element in san antonio [emarkv]
Invoice plus $490 destination charge for that vehicle is $17,953. I would offer $17,553 ($400 below invoice)plus tax and registration. The 2005 Elements will be out in August, so this is a fair price. Plus, I believe there is a $400 manufacturer to dealer incentive. Read More...
payload
Is it true that four 175 pound passengers overload the Element? Is it a problem? Somehow I would think it would be for any active group of four persons, even without bikes, camping equipment--and of course gasoline. We are interested in the Element mostly for hauling two people and two (maybe three) dogs; therefore payload is not a major issue most of the time. ... Read More...
Re: Air Conditioning Power? [ztorin #3273]
Sounds good, but is what people in Boston consider "hot" a major test for the A/C? Can it handle Florida or Arizona heat? Anyone here drive an Element last summer in a very hot climate? I'm thinking about getting a black Element (which will be even harder to keep cool than other colors). Actually, I would get either black or white if were to get one and black is the only ... Element might get CVT automatic?
Speaking of the Element, Honda recently debuted the Japanese domestic market (JDM) Odyssey that uses more or less the same drivetrain as the Element but mates it with a belt-drive continuously-variable transmission (CVT) automatic that uses a special torque converter. This makes me wonder is Honda seriously looking at making the CVT automatic an option ... Read More...

the honda pickup, due out in 2005 as a 2006 model will be on the pilot platform, but will have suspension setup almost identical to the element, with similar styling cues. Read More...
