4 Years & Still Love It
Vehicle
2004 Honda Element EX AWD 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 5M)
Review
If you like a practical vehicle, not showy, but tough, durable and fun to drive - The Element is for you. I have gone through 4 bad Michigan winters and was very impressed with the dependability and the way it handles in adverse weather conditions. This is a great little truck I plan on driving it until it falls apart and just can't be driven anymore.
Favorite Features
Easy cleanup interior & exterior. Roomy, tough door panels, good ride and travels well. I can't believe how much space it has if you need to haul something and fold the seats up. Minimum amount of upkeep. Absolutely no problems.
Suggested Improvements
Minor Issues: Stock tires were horrible, gas mileage could be tweaked a little, avg about 19 mile per gallon.

Lovin' it!

My dad has fun with his '04 Element, especially since it stands out with its Fiji Blue color. He mainly uses it to deliver restaurant supplies to his restaurant in LA. I'll occasionally take his car to school once in a while. I can't complain about those handy fold-up rear seats. Although they are a bit heavy, once folded up, you have plenty of cargo room. The floor is so easy to clean off as well - just spray it off with a garden hose. Handling is sharp; sure doesn't feel clumsy on turns. I love this box!
Favorite Features
Folding rear seats, the 'box' design, easy-to-clean floor, fuel economy, shared engine with the Accord, tight turn-circle
Suggested Improvements
Ugly steel wheels, better plastic fenders, bumpers, etc., stereo lacks bass punch unless if you get the EX, lack telescoping steering wheel, poor visibility due to thickness of A-pillar and B-pillar, clam-shell doors sort of hinder entrance/exit, a 5-speed automatic transmission would be nice

I love this vehicle. Just retired my '03 Aztek with 170k & wanted something just as unique with better reliability. Would have preferred the manual shift, but so far the automatic is fine. Lovin' it.
Favorite Features
"Wipe down" interior, "break-away" rear seats, outward visibility, turning radius, solid feel, unique exterior design, & much more.
Suggested Improvements
On board computer (miles to go 'til empty).

Initial Impressions

Review
Just bought a used, but highly cared for 04 Element EX. Only driven it about 400 miles, but overall I love it. Only two things I wish it had; 1) Computer with average MPH, MPG, and miles until out of gas. 2) Five speed automatic like the 07 & 08 models.
Favorite Features
Audio system is so good that I took a break from talk radio (NPR) to listen to music again! Also, like the stiff ride as my 4 month old sleeps forever. My wife really liked being able to recline the rear seat while watching our baby (a feature most vehicle don't have).
Suggested Improvements
The ACC power terminals are such a snug fit that I wasn't pushing the GPS Power adapter in far enough. As a result, I thought the ACC power terminal was dead. Once I figured this out I installed a "dual power" adapter. This allows for two devices and less rigorous pressure...

I get between 22-25 mpg, plenty of room in back, like the ability to move seats up for more storage, especially since I traded my truck in, it works nicely on the trips to Home Depot.
Favorite Features
The iPod aux input, subwoofer.

Review
i have had mine for just about three years now and have used it for just about everything from camping, snowboarding, moving, and just hauling stuff. Like most folks, I wasn't a fan until I sat inside one. It really is that roomy in there. The seating configurations make it so it can handle just about anything. This car has never given me any problems and is still really fun to drive. Mine was a manual so it drove and handled even more like a car than an suv. The horsepower and torque is exellent for this size car. I still skirt the tires all the time! (this never happened with my 2000 Civic EX)
Favorite Features
The interior, the quietness of the engine at idle, the premium stereo with subwoofer, the overall roominess.
Suggested Improvements
The standard Goodyear tires that came with the car and no middle seatbelts\seating for a fifth passenger.

I have had my E since new, it has never had a single thing go wrong with it. It's a bit noisy and gets a little breathless on the highway, but the mileage is good and the handling is excellent. Incredibly versatile, I have had bicycles, lawnmowers, snowblowers and even a mid-size motorcycle in it. If you want a fun to drive, utilitarian , pickup type vehicle with a good standard of creature comforts this is the vehicle you want. I am still on the original tires . Don't buy the multi player CD player...buy an Ipod instead. I am currently looking to replace it with another E.
Favorite Features
Flexibility and awesome reliability
Suggested Improvements
More power, 30 hp would be enough and an electric driver seat with two memories would also be good.

This car is so fun to drive! I got a manual transmission which makes it even more fun to drive! I find that with the stick, it has more pep than an automatic transmission. Since the car has no carpet, it's great for hauling my dog who sheds around in it. It has a tremendous amount of knee room in the back even for tall people. I would definitely recommend this car to anyone who wants an affordable SUV style car that has a lot of room in it without paying big bucks!
Favorite Features
Stick shift on the dash, leg room in back.
Suggested Improvements
Roll down windows in the back.

We purchased this vehicle about 3 months ago and have taken it on trips non-stop. We were impressed with its ability to be like a truck, you can load and haul pretty much anything in it. Clean up is very easy. Just wipe it clean and you're done. Easy to wash and wax too. Not much to do because the durable plastic exterior part is so easy to wipe down.
Favorite Features
Nice head room. Great handling. We camp in it all the time. We can fit a full size foam mattress in the back with the seats out. Great sound system. Comfortable and easy to clean.
Suggested Improvements
The moon roof flips up, but it would be nice if it could slide open. Gas mileage is about 25, but we wish it was better.

Element Lover!

I am in a wheelchair. I got the Element because the backseats would hang and the back door opened like a van. I could pop my 15 pound wheelchair behind the driver's seat and go.
Favorite Features
There's no carpet. I love the floor covering. It is also the cutest car on the road.
Suggested Improvements
For me with a balance problem, I wish the back doors opened differently.
