Review
I've always looked at this car and wanted it when I saw it. So I test drove it and it was very roomy, very comfortable, and very good performance. I've had this car for close to a year now and I have no problems at all with this car. Gas mileage is very good considering it's size and four cylinder motor. Everyone I see I have them look inside it and they love it. They say it's full of room and I even let my boss man drive it and he said it has a lot of guts. That was coming from a guy who loves chevy. I've come to love Honda's. They're awesome cars that definitely put the driver in mind for the long haul. And for that I thank the people at Honda for making such a great car.
Favorite Features
Basically the fact that the car has so much potential to customize. It's soo roomy and the back seats are awesome because they're very versitile. Plan and simply this is a great car to drive and the experience is one of a kind. And I really suggest everyone take one for a test drive.
Suggested Improvements
The only thing I can honestly think of would possibly be that the center console could be redesigned or be a different option. Maybe one that stands elbow height and with storage of course, and an optional CD changer. That to me would be awesome. It's only a suggestion but would be a cool idea.

Excellent performance, dependibility, excellent gas milage, smooth ride, excellent stiring, really big inside, excellent flooring, washable seats, I traded a Mercedes E300 for this SUV and I am very happy. I think this is the best SUV around. Rides just as good as the Mercedes ML300. Thank you Honda for making such a wonderful product.
Favorite Features
The large amount of leg room, the high ceiling, washable seats, wonderful flooring.
Suggested Improvements
May want to consider putting cruise control in the LX.

I love my element. The stadium seating in the back seat is a fav among my friends. Most of my friends say this car is ugly until they see how "cool" it is inside. I love the available space and the ease of cleanup. The panaramic view from the front is great. Manueverability is great and parking is easy. This car is fun to drive and I can't wait to take it camping. Legroom in the back is great, headroom everywhere more than enough.
Favorite Features
The ride quality, the stadium style back seats, the versatility of the back seats, the stereo, the roominess
Suggested Improvements
Shade cover for the sunroof, cheaper accesories, power sunroof, sunroof up front, remove the cupholders in the back seat and make it a cushion so that 3 could sit in the back, optional mount for mp3 player near the shifter. Latch for opening rear door from th inside to make sleeping in the car easie

I haven't been this excited about a new car in decades! As word gets out, this car will become the 21st century's Beetle. A sublime mix of functionality and cost. I tote a lot of stuff every day and the suicide doors make loading it so much easier. Contrary to reports, the Element with 5 speed manual is a very peppy car. My wife cringed when I insisted on an Element to replace a '95 Civic. Admittedly, I thought her CR-V was the ideal car for the money, until I got the Element. The Element trumps it at thousands less. Although she won't admit it, she's fallen for it too!
Favorite Features
The usual solid Honda quality. Interior flexibility and design is terrific. The stereo with subwoofer (MP3 & power jacks) is Honda's best sound system. An SUV that executes on-street U turns without backing up - how's that for handling?
Suggested Improvements
Desires? Elevate and redesign the console between the front seats. Defrosters for the outside mirrors.
a great car - the plus & minus of it

Overall a great car.We own an 01 Accord and love it.Our family has owned many models and years with very little negative to say about Honda. The Element continues in this tradition. The combination of economy and utility is a great aspect of this car.The back seats can't be fully reclined to latch up inside unless the head rest is removed. This appears to be an oversight since the owners manual and website make no mention of removing head rest. The moonroof needs improvements- with the glass in- it opens a paltry 3-4 inches. When you remove the glass, the optional screen that I purchased isn't supposed to be used when the car is in motion.A power roof like we have on our accord would be great.

Shifter location, storage, flooring, fog lights, tailgate, cargo capacity, fuel economy, rear wiper, dial climate controls, side steps, door handles, audio jack (for sat. box or mp3), cargo net, cargo cover, storage arm rest, spray-not stream- windsheild washers, volume memory for each stereo function.
Suggested Improvements
More upgrade options- V6,power seats-tilting options, and deeper hugging seats like accord, power locks on BOTH sides, power moon roof, more wiper intermittent options, another audio and power jack, lose rear seat cupholders in lieu of being able to seat 5th person in center, more cargo restraint option

Just bought my element. I love how high the seats are and the view from the windshield. Best car for the money, it reminds me of my old Jeep CJ-& just with better gas mileage, better reliability, and better heat although not nearly as rugged. I had to purchase a handful of bungee cords and a milk crate to secure my stuff, otherwise it slides everywhere. Road noise is no problem although I read some think it is. The 4 cylinder provides sufficient acceleration. The stereo is better than average for a factory system but isn't quite the caliber of my old Alpine w/ infinity speakers. So far its a great car. Can't wait to test the 4wd in snow.
Favorite Features
Storage space, roominess, comfort of ride, headroom, looks, versatility,
Suggested Improvements
Cargo net standard so stuff doesn't slide around everywhere, cheaper accesories ie fog lights, roof rack, etc, that stuff is really spendy.

Outstanding car in nearly every way. Greatest car-camper we've ever had. Seat belt retractor needs help so it doesn's stick in door. Dealer network leaves something to be desired for aftermarket additions.
Favorite Features
Interior options. We did 11 week of carcamping while towing. Get a Yakima carrier--factory option doesn't hold enuf for whitewater gear.
Suggested Improvements
Stronger spring on seat belt retractor so it doesn't stick in door. More hand hold and clip options everywhere. Disable alarms--you want access to features when camping without noises.

I can't say enough about this car! I'm stopped by people in parking lots asking about my Element. I'm an advertisement on wheels for this car. We purchased the Element to replace one of our 2 Honda CRV's, still love our CRV but the Element suits my business needs better. I am an artist, I sell my work at arts and crafts shows. With the back seats out I can haul all my inventory, my entire display, tent/canopy, chairs, floor mats, rugs, EVERYTHING I need to do a show including my luggage and a friend and their stuff! If it rains and the field gets muddy I know that the 4WD will get me home. The kicking stereo keeps us going and I never have to worry about gas money!
Favorite Features
It's a joy to drive. Behind the wheel you have a great command view of the road. The manual trans. compensates for any concerns about power. Easy to clean up after a muddy weekend too! This car ROCKS (so does the stereo!)
Suggested Improvements
SO far our only complaint would be that the back windows and sunroof are hard to open and close when you're on the road. You really have to stop the car and get out to deal with them. It'd be great to have power controlls to open and close them.

I have been watching this vehicle since it was introduced. I absolutely love it. I am big guy 6'1" 300+ and find it difficult to feel comfortable in most cars-even bigger ones! So I was sold on it the first time I sat in it. Plus, it is different not the norm - and I like that too. This is a combination vehicle. It's a little bit of a little van, pickup truck, off- roader & station wagon. Since I keep my vehicles until the wheels fall off, I am expecting on having this one for a long, long time!
Favorite Features
Simple controls, easy to clean interior, durable, very, very roomy and just plain practical.
Suggested Improvements
Truthfully I am really happy with it. But if I just had to make any suggestion it would be on the front seat, if it could go back just two more inches it would be great. Beyond that, I can live with everything else.
