I love my box on wheels!!aewsome gas mileage.I drive 3000 miles a month. This is a very fun car to drive, and it's safe. My family of four all fit very comfortably in it. It has great cargo room, My husband brought home a ginormous swamp cooler that fit perfectly in the back , not to mention a loveseat also (different times of course). Anyway get lots of compliments on it people are really intrested in it. It is also very easy to clean inside and out!! Thanks Honda!!!, t2b

After researching the Element for several months, I decided that it was the car for me. It is so fun to drive. I have owned it 4 months and had no problems. Many features can be added (suggest the fog lights and rear spoiler). Fuel economy is so-so. Hate that it only seats four, but I don't car pool often. Had no problems and the Honda dealership was awesome! Please consider this for your next vehicle. The Element is the best bang for your buck!

This really is the Swiss Army knife of automobiles. As a product designer I appreciate every detail of the Element. Some reviews have outlandish suggested improvements....6cyl, Hybrid, luxury options, etc. Take a marketing class and you'll appreciate what the Element has and more importantly why it does (or doesn't for that matter) have it. Honda has hit a home run with this vehicle but not everyone knows how to spot a diamond in the rough. When I spoke of purchasing an Element some people I know said "It's hideous" and yet when they actually ride in it they immediately acknowledge it's roomy, and versatile interior as well as it's good power and comfortable ride. This one's a keeper.
Favorite Features
Versatile interior, fun-factor (Reminds me of my '91 Si Hatch) ergonomic shifter, contrast of exterior panels, handling in snow/ice, good mileage for an SUV, excellent crash test ratings = low insurance, super comfortable ride for long trips (I'm 6'1" and have room to spare). Too many favorites.....
Suggested Improvements
300 hundred characters available to use and I have nothing bad to say or complain about. What a pity.
You have to drive it to appreciate it.

I am a 58 year Commercial Real Estate Broker. If you are looking for a car that is fun to drive, utilitarian and is out of the main stream, this car is for you. It handles really well for it has a real substantial feel. There are people who think that it is ugly but that's there problem. The bottom line is this is one funky ride.
Favorite Features
Too many to list.
Suggested Improvements
Curtain air bags and better fuel economy.

I live in NH. and travel all over New England and down the coast. I play in a variety of musical acts and haul my drums and sometimes my bassist's gear as well. The E' just eats it up and has performed very well for me. My last car was a Chevy Tahoe, so I am coming from a big rig. Ups: Loads of room, and comfort. Good stereo, Jack for my XM. Downs: Braking could be better. Road noise (due to no carpet?) is a little high ( see nice stereo above) and wind noise and buffeting is high. In all, I get lots of comments..."cool!" "ugly!" "box" But have you seen the Rover Discovery? How about the Hummer? Now run the prices. 'nuff said. Come on hybrid.

I just got it! You either love it or hate it. I love it. It sucks gas! That's the only thing negative I can say about it. They 21 mpg City, Don't think so. It's more like 18. Power is O.K. Drives nice, handles well and still fit's in tight places. It's a cross between a truck, van, and a SUV. I heard it was designed for the younger generation, I'm 40 and I think it's awesome. Lots of room, easy to change the seats around. I use it for work and I don't have to worry about it getting banged up or stuff spilled in it. With it's out side panels, waterproof seat covers & utility floors. If I could, I would have gotten the EX. Oh well, Next time.
Favorite Features
Stereo rocks! Cargo doors make it so easy if you are getting stuff out of your car alot. The large windows are a nice feature as well if you drive in lots of traffic.
Suggested Improvements
Better gas mileage. & More horse power.

LIKE THE EASE OF GETTING IN AND OUT. LOADS OF LEG ROOM IN THE REAR. LOVE THE RADIO AND CD SYSTEM. ONLY PROBLEM SO FAR IS THAT IT SEEMS I'M ALWAYS GASING THE GUY UP. SOME TIME TWICES A WEEK FOR DRIVING AROUND IN NEW YORK CITY. I USE THE CAR TO GET TO AND FROM FROM DIFFERENT WORK SITES. MAYBE A LARGER GAS TANK NEXT TIME.
Favorite Features
MY WIFE USES A WHEEL CHAIR TO GET AROUND. IT FITS BEHIND THE FRONT SEATS. IF I HAVE OTHER PEOPLE IN THE CAR IT IS EASY TO STORE THE CHAIR FROM THE BACK. THE CLAM SHELL BACK MAKES IT VERY EASY TO PUT THE CAHIR IN AND TAKE THE CHAIR OUT.
Suggested Improvements
A LARGER GAS TANK PLEASE. ONLY 6700 MILES ON THE CAR, SO FAR SO GOOD!

Gutsy, gorgeous, and gas efficient! I loved my 2003 Honda Element so much that I bought a second one in 2004 so my husband could have one as well. It is roomy, family friendly, rugged and wicked cool looking to boot. I bought one in green and one in blue, the only colours that offered matching interior trim. I also love the new sky light in back that comes out; you can put in its place a screen! I also love the options, I got the running boards, roof rack, interior rubber mats, front seat covers and stearing wheel cover. It is very stylish!

I love my element. It handles great and the ride is smooth. I couldn't get up my driveway in the snow with my old car and the Element AWD kicks in and cruises right up.
Favorite Features
The AWD and the very roomy back seat.
Suggested Improvements
Better fuel mileage would be a plus on any car, would like the aux jacks to be powered all the time.

Finding myself in the market for a vehicle that could comfortably seat four adult males and their gear for week long mountain bike trips, get good gas miliage and cost under $20,000-this was the winner. My other car is a Subaru Forester, which is a great car for my lifestle, but fitting American sized adults in the back seat is a joke. The Honda's exterior looks are still growing on me. It was this reason that caused me to put it at the bottom of my shopping list (behind the Toyota Matrix and others). One test drive quickly showed me that the Element, although shaped like a box on wheels, drove more like an Accord. It was clear that this was going to be a great escape car for me.
Favorite Features
Interior space is unbelievable! Being able to hose down the inside is great! For $18,900 the versatility is unheard of. This is a true utillity vehicle. Built for 20-somethings, I find many 30- 40-50 and 60-somthings falling in love with this unique and smart vehicle.
Suggested Improvements
Better optional engines seem called for. Many of my friends who have expressed interest in the car are often upset to hear that it only comes with the four cylinder engine, which does not work for towing. Others often ask if it comes in a dual power model like some other Honda models.
